Israel has agreed to cease fires before, the problem is that Hezbollah or the Palistinians always break the cease fire after less than a few days and start launching rockets again. Not Israels fault. Israel is a small nation surrounded by people that don't like them, because of this they are hyper vigilant. My only problem with Israel is that they talk shit about Iran having nukes and denying UN inspectors, when they themselves have a (not so secret) nuclear program and they also do not allow the UN to inspect. They are able to do with because they are cool witht he US and the US has clout in the UN security council.

Other than that though, it's not fair to just blame israel for everything, are they hyper vigilante? Yes. But even after cease fires the palistinians won't leave them alone. If someone comes along every morning and punches you in the face, after a couple of years you are going to retalliate, and your probably not going to just punch them in the face once. You will probably hit them 10 times, kick them once their down, then stand on their throat untill they almost lose consciouseness so that they get the point for future reference.

Israel gets way too much special treatment, but it doesn't mean they are the root of al evil.

Also, more interestingly, how do you see opposing religious beliefs? For example, do you begrudge those that seek to kill "Proud Marines" because they are currently occupying Allah's (God's) land? Do you believe that religious fanaticism should play a role in the modern world?
While thankfully my son returned home safely, if something had happened to him, I would have been less than a true Christian if I didn't pray to my God Jesus Christ (not Allah) for the person who did the horrible deed. In fact, I pray for Osama's salvation as well as all Arabs and Israelis as well. I have even started including you in my prayers.

So if that is the type religious fanaticism you are talking about, yes it definitely needs to part of the modern world. In fact, now more than ever before.

The artificial occupier state of Israel, is a modern phenomena, and while it may bear the name Israel, it, the modern created state, does not refer to the biblical Israel. And Torah true Jews do not support the artificial state of Israel, because it goes against the Torah. The modern state of Israel is really just a Zionist production, and many Torah true Jews do not support Zionism, or Israel. And they know the Torah teachings which tell them the Zionist state is in fact, un-Judaeic.

I am not an intellectual person like so many of the Snuson members seem to be so my responses are not long winded. I am a simple man with simple beliefs. I take the Bible literally with such verses as Mark 10:15 KJV Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

I think our country would be in better shape if we had more leaders that thought the same way.

I'm not saying that you're not justified in feeling that way, just that you have to consider government shouldn't be biased by religion. If the US was supporting India's claim to Kashmir because we were run by Hindu fundamentalists and India acted like Israel does, you'd be up in arms about the US supporting them. Well, most likely you would, anyway.

I agree with this in the fact that it is better to have some quasi-control over none.

The whole putting Isreal in check is essentially a new way of thinking these days. About a decade ago if you ever questioned anything you would be labeled as a anti-semite racist.

More and more people are awakening to the fact there is a heavy influence from Isreal over our politicians and the high number of dual citizens of Isreal also slants things.

When you start to get politicians who stand up against this influence you will start to see some real peace.

I do think the US's being in that latest nuclear party, in which Israel refused to submit, is interesting, in that the future of Israel's secret nuke stockpiles is becoming a world issue.

Israel are a bunch of sh!ts for the above already explained reasons.

You also get a glimpse of what they're like in the 1948 war. What bugs me about these people amongst other things is that they were persecuted during the war - fair enough but they did exactly the same thing to Arabs during this war. When they went in to supposedly cleared Arab villages and they found civilians still there - they shot them dead. Having said that - Arabs aren't any better whatsoever. Having also said that - Europeans aren't much better. The atrocities that happened in the second world war were unbelievable. Conclusion - human beings are murdering bastards.

I'll agree with you that it's a source of a lot of our problems. The US government seems to want to be the world police. But, have you looked at some of the insane crap we do for Israel? Our relations with Middle Eastern nations are shot in part because we support a country which in their eyes stole the land out from under one of their allies. We also give them insane amounts of aid. According to this estimate, allegedly conservative, we've given them nearly $114,000,000,000 since 1949. This pages cites a government organization, the Congressional Research Service, and says we gave $2.55 billion dollars in military aid alone to Israel last year. I mean, if you want to talk about a waste of taxpayer's money that could be better spent at home on improving schools and jobs, $2.55 billion dollars can do a lot. Not everything, but having that much more each year would certainly help.
