Strep Throat

Yup, I have strep throat and it sucks! The worst part about it, it seems as if all of my snus actually irritates my throat even more. I've tried 'dipping snus,' meaning, not swallowing but rather spitting which doesn't work because that dehydrates my already tender throat. I really wish there was a 'chloraseptic snus' right about now! I'm miserable and had to belly-ache about it here.

I've been having some throat discomfort, and I was thinking it was the maybe the snus/dip/chew, but I believe it is from nasal snuff, because this weekend I didn't use any, and the discomfort went away, but then last night I did some and now it's back, it's like in that area the nose, ear, and throat connect on my left side.

Ugh.

i quit using snuff mostly for that reason.

When I get strep I drink hot raspberry tea and it seems to help me.

Bummer. I noticed some itching/discomfort a time or two with certain snuffs. I also noticed me going kind of overboard with snuff sometimes. I hate to say it, but I should probably knock it off, or at least try and keep it kind of rare. Now that I don't smoke three dozen or so cigarettes every day, I can sing again, although I may never get all of my range back (I miss having a falsetto :^(), and the snus doesn't really seem to hurt my voice, but I worry the snuff might. I have trouble with my sinuses, and anything getting in there inflaming things is probably a loser.

Also sorry to hear about your strep throat, desirexe. I've never had that; amazingly, because I used to have tonsillitis every year. My doctor never did take my tonsils; I'm kind of glad. Anyway, I know a sore throat is not good company. Feel better soon!

That sucks. I am not a big fan of 01 but I was glad I had some on hand the last time I had a sore throat. It seemed to bother me the least.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I've started antibiotics today so I should soon be getting over this. I had thought of ordering some catch eucalyptus, that just sounds comforting, but I am being optimistic and told myself that I would get better faster than northerner could ship!
