I do like the layout of the current snuson, and I hope the new format is not like snuscentral. But we do have the worst search I have ever seen.

I do think Chad should have credited the source of the dip article. I knew Jonathan had another account for a long time, didn't agree with it, but it didn't noticeably cause any disruption that I saw.

I do like them, and Christi, and I hope all this blows over, and they can come back as regular members someday.

Wow, I don't know what to say. I love SnusOn, this is the best site I have ever been apart of. This June will make a year for me. I've known about all this (Chad's side) for a few weeks now, I haven't been active because last week my father died of cancer at the age of 52. It was a pretty shitty week. The only thing I hope for all of this is that out very small niche community isn't split. Reading Snusdog's post was very interesting. I do not agree with that at all. You should give credit. Chad has put so much in this website, hell he even made sigs and avatars saying "proud member of SnusOn" for everyone to use. I really like Chad, Christi and Jon, and hope that all of this can be fixed. Please work this out.
        What were Jon's other usernames?
One other thing that doesn't make sense, I was told that Clubsnus was shut out by Northerner from buying V2 products. Was is the story behind that?

As I stated earlier, I love this site, and consider you guys my internet family. There's too many good people to list, (maybe if I was wasted like Roo was when he name dropped like 50 of us, I would list you guys)
and don't want this to get more out of hand then it already is. Those above questions are the only things to me that don't make sense. As long as SnusOn doesn't become the equivalent of the Getsnus boards (where if you mention anything besides Swedish Match, you're in trouble), then I have no problems with this new change.

Dam.....I'm sorry bout your dad. 52 is a very young age.

You all have nothing to worry about tho. SnusOn will only change for the better. And remember SnusOn IS the members.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Thanks PP. Yea it happened really fast. He went to the hospital, diagnosed, and gone, within a span of three weeks.

I am very sorry to hear that. My father passed away at age 56 due to a sudden heart attack at home when I was just 21. Two years later my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer and within another year was gone.

Hang in there. Support is all around you.

I'll chime in briefly to offer my condolences to Veganpunk. Hang in there.

As for the whole Chad issue, I think we'll all agree that we are thankful for all he did for the forum and for the Snus community on the whole. Sadly, we can never all agree with each other all the time, and that's life.

                    Two Cents

I believe it's important that SnusOn get back ASAP to what is its greatest strength: bringing snus enthusiasts from all over the world together to discuss snus: habits, brands, shops, types, flavors, etc.

The sooner this laundry gets aired out, the sooner the site becomes valuable again.

When I was in the snus industry, I watched this site constantly, and even threw in some comments as the head of Taboca/former head of Gallaher Sweden. It was valuable in that genuine snusers were available for instant feedback, much of which was sent straight to the factory.

I think, in the end, an association with Northerner can be a valuable thing. First of all, they are in Sweden, and Frank has direct relationships with all factories, both from Big and Small Tobacco. Second, hopefully Northerner's growth strategy can provide valuable information and influence with regard to operating under PACT, and the site can be used as an informational conduit to US consumers.

In the end, a unified snus community is important, especially in the US market, where the big boys are now national with their crap pseudo-snus products, and Swedish Match is repeating its failed big-city marketing campaign of the 1990s (go onto the General US website and just try not to fall asleep). This site seems to be taking things personally, when it should be getting back down to the business it does best.

This is NOT cool! In addition to bordering on/being outright plagiarism, there are LEGAL issues that can lead to hot water due to copyrights. That's one reason why I ALWAYS make it a point to provide a source link when quoting other articles/websites. I will chalk Chad's lack of awareness of these issues up to his youth. I hate that he is no longer here. I was planning to send a sample of my homemade snus to him for review, assuming it didn't turn out like Camel.

But please me to you. Know that what happened happened for GOOD reason. You just have to trust me
That's all I needed to hear. I support the decision, regardless of how it came to be. I would be even happier if it could get worked out where Chad could come back as well.

Veganpunk, so sorry to hear about your loss  that is so sad.

I don't have anything else to add, except a huge thank you to ice, the mods, and the members here for making it a great place to chat and share information. Those in "exile" will be missed. And thanks to dog, aj01, and others for the great posts here. Peace

                              A quick word:

I want us to be fair and to make sure that we keep the facts straight. Chad did not rip the Dipper’s Guide he just used it in a way that I thought took too much liberty. And for the record He has corrected it and sent me an apology.

Also for the record (if we are confessing our sins during this the Lenten season), I did not confront Chad about it when it happened and I should have. For me it was one of those “something just doesn’t seem right but I don’t want to make a stink” moments. I should have followed my gut and talked it out with him. For that I am indeed sorry and offer my deepest apologies.

Also keep in mind that there are other factors like those to which Sage refered. These will need to be resolved as well. I do no know what the outcome will be but already we are miles from where we were at this time yesterday.......and that is a very good thing

Also Aj01 thanks so much for your wise words. I could not agree more.

For the time being, until the new forum software is done, use Google's site search:

"white portion" 1847 is more specific than white portion 1847
You can also add the person's username to your searchstring.

It isn't perfect but it does make it easier to find stuff here.
