People need to learn that a candidate should be voted for on their record and on their own credentials...not because of their party affiliation. This won't work, however, if the elections are rigged...which is certainly a possibility. And if not this is still incredibly difficult because those who control the parties control the megacorps, the military industrial complex, big pharma, and most importantly...the MEDIA. Without the backing of the media it is difficult for any candidate to get off the ground.
Television began the fall of this country (among other things of course...namely the FED). The majority of people take the tid bits of spun information that they get from the media and take it as 100% fact. The fact is that we as a nation are mentally herded by our overseers in the media. They tell us what is fact. They tell us what is fiction. They tell us what is good and bad...and they tell us what is normal. Until people unplug from this deceptive matrix there will be no solution.
BUT...if one day we do actually "purge" our government of the criminals and liars that currently sit as our authorities we can then convict those who sit above the law for their lies, treason, and countless other crimes against not only the constitution...but against humanity.
Unless people start "waking up" I don't think I'll ever see this day.
THe problem here is that the precedent has already been set. We didn't nail the first guy to start being corrupt, and therefore we now have 100 or more years of history in which our leaders, (on both sides of the isle) do corrupt things and get away with it. It's become standard that every politician is corrupt by default. Ask any american and they will tell you that they often vote for "the lesser of two evils" <---- this is unnacceptable.
When everyone in the system is corrupt, in all 3 branches of government, who is to be the one who fixes the problem? No one is willing to point out corruption because every politician who points their finger has 4 fingers pointing back at them.
We in the US share a long history of being great, but somewhere something went wrong, likely just due to the fact that our system became top heavy and tainted by corporate lobbying dollars, as tends to happen with any large government.
We like to point out injustice all over the world, invading iraq because Sadam Hussein was a dirtbag and was gassing kurd and allegedly in possession of WMD's. But by that standard, we are equally at fault. Though we never gassed anyone, we have WMD's and are the only ones who've used them, plus we have many instances of government wrongdoing such as illegal medical experiments on unkowing citizens, radiation poisoning, coverups, allowing pearl harbor to happen, Waco, agent orange etc. The list is nearly endless.
In times like these, what entity can we entrust with the job of restoring order and removing a cancer that has infected every nation on earth? And even if we did tar and feather every last member of congress, who's to say the idiots won't just elect another gang of morons?

with you on all that... just want to add a few more important ones: gulf of tonkin, CIA drug trafficking, using global warming as a scam, the unconstitutional patriot act, 9/11 ...yeah pretty much settled...the government is run by criminals.

I'd rather take this chance than to have the current members of government who I KNOW do not have the interests of the people in mind. ie... see your list of government wrongdoing. if you tell me that if i get in car-A there is a 100% chance of a crash...but if i get in car-B there is a 50% chance of a crash....im getting in car B.

Looking at your list, I am reminded of my fear that it may be too late. I mean most people on this forum seem to peg me as some uber nationalist America is the best kinda guy since I avidly oppose anything JudgeFaust says, but sometimes I wonder if we are any better than our enemies. I think the main problem isn't even government, as government is not static and changes based on several factors. I think what needs reform is the corporations. As early as WWII we had companies aiding the Nazi's (See ford and standard oil etc) , financing both sides, and then after the war these companies are still alowed to do business here (See I.G. Farben after it was broken up, Bayer still sells pills in every supermarket).
It's the money that corrupts more than anything, and many of the transnational corporations are, of course, very rich. We need to fix the part of our system that enables companies to use this money to directly influence government. The supreme court's ruling a few weeks ago that corporations can directly finance campaigns is just the latest step in this bogus concept of "corporate personhood" that alleges that a corporate entity is the same as any other citizen.
Money really is the root here, we fought off a central bank twice in this country before we got stuck with the Fed, and almost 100 years later look at where that got us. We've got people running this ship that care more about making money than the national interest, and will not even think twice about selling us out to china/russia/the world bank etc if they get a chance to make a profit.
For proof of this look at our last two admins, clinton and bush. Between clintons repeal of Glass Stiegl (which is really what caused this whole financial problem in the first place), to Bush's patriot act, it appears to me that we are letting them blatantly take over. They don't even have the restraint to do it secretly anymore, they just openly bend us over at their pleasure like some cheap whore.
Well I for one, am not a cheap whore, and I suspect most American's aren't either. And at least the whore gets paid after the deed, we just give all our money to the pimp and then beg that they give us free healthcare in return. Sickening.

How do you do it? Inquiring minds want to know!
Some people would rather build a better hamster wheel to chase their happiness.
Some people have found their happiness and see the hamster wheel as pointless.
