    Having kids in school

sometimes sucks. I have never gotten sick so many times in a span of a few months before in all my life. I had tonsillitis b4 xmas, sinus infection after that, now I have some stomach virus crap and another sore throat w/ a cough.

Enough already. I eat healthy foods that are rich in vit C and 'try' to keep my house as germ free as possible(w/o over doing it since you CAN keep a home too clean)...WTF is the deal?!

Just wanted to rant. I feel like sh*t and have too much to do since I could barely move yesterday. I shouldn't even be on SnusOn this morning. But I can't help myself

I abuse my body. eat horribly. Whats a vitamin? Haven't gotten even remotely sick in 20 or so years.

No need for the jinx I brag about it all the time.

I know what you mean Christi. My two daughters and I have been passing this friggin' cold around for a month now. It's very mild, but nagging to say the least.

Speaking of school, my six-year-old fell on Saturday and scraped her philtrum. It looks like a little red Hitler-mustache now. She's DEVASTATED about going to school today thinking people will laugh at her. Kids can be mean so they just might but it'll make her stronger. Hearing a six-year-old say "Daddy, this is going to be the worst day of my life" is amusing, but my heart bleeds for her. If she only knew how bad things can get...

Ugg I know what you mean about how horrid kids can get. Luckily mine haven't encountered that yet. I know there will come that day...

Sometimes my penis gets sick and throws up when I touch it too much. Other than that... *knock on wood* , haven't had issues especially since adding nasal snuff to my diet.

I am feeling better after another full day of nothing. I took a nap and I feel like I am ok enough to clean the kitchen or fold some laundry now. haha.

You might want to look into vitamin D3. I always took a lot of vitamin C and still got sick from my kids. Once I started taking 2 to 4 thousand mg's of D3 in the winter I haven't been sick. It's going on 2 years now.

Whenever I've had kids I've tried to find a dark alley where I can have some privacy. Having kids in school would be awful, but I know it happens.

On one hand, that just sounds R E A L L Y bad, but I'm sure it's akin to a google voice transcription of what you meant!

                        Try working in a school.

That's what I did for 16 years. For the first three years while school was in session, I was sick every other month. The elementary kids are the worse... they are always sick. Entering an elementary school is like going into a viral "hot zone."

After about two and a half years of being exposed, your body builds up defenses against 99% of the crap; however, when you catch the 1%, it's living hell. That 1% will knock you on your ass for about a week and usually requires a doctors visit.

God... am I happy I am retired.

I take two capsules each morning (4000iu total plus 400iu from my multivitamin). The amount of Vitamin D you get for the price (about $13) is crazy. However, you can only buy the Kirkland brand at Costco.

There is a very large body of evidence suggesting Vitamin D strengthens the immune system and prevents cancer. I remember a study where cancered rats were given vitamin D. They completely recovered, while the ones who didn't get vitamin D perished.

I spend most of my life in an Emergency Room, and doing Microbiology, so I have an immune system of freakin STEEL. I DO NOT get sick.
Where people go wrong is being TOO hygenic. Dont wash your hands quite so much(unless you work in a hospital like I do). Let your kid eat that peice of candy he dropped on the ground. Ive always been this way with my kids, and they DO NOT get sick. Never even had an ear infection. Quit carrying around that little bottle of alcohol gel. It all adds up to a much stronger immune system.
Think about it, if you never ever ever let your body be exposed to pathogens, how the hell are you ever going to build antibodies to them? Some bug comes along, and just ravages your insides and makes you sick as a dog(no offense SnusDog :P ), instead of your body being familiar with that bug, and kicking its candy little ass. 8)

+1 : AKA The Dirt Vaccine.

edit: And even more important, get rid of all your antibiotic/antimicrobial hand soaps. These are like antibiotics, and actually will create resistant and pathogenic strains of otherwise harmless microorganisms. The alcohol hand sanitizers won't do this, but nevertheless, using them does not allow your own immune system to recognize and remember them via antibodies.
