Are we all going to die in 2012?

    So, what do you think?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

    Nope.

2012 will just be another dull boring grind of a year....although maybe the financial health of the world will have picked up a bit.

So, did anyone watch Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura last night? It was about 2012?

I did, and it was pretty good. I could be wrong, along with many others, but I think there could be a high possibility of it being true, that would equate with natural disaster.

If we have a large hole in our atmosphere, which was said, and it's predicted that the Sun would have reaching abnormal heat blasts, as well as other stated galactic alignments and such, it could product a global die off, and maybe also include a polar shift.

Will it happen at 2012? I don't know. But there are many theories surrounding this time. The reason I can't just dismiss it, is because someday, something will happen.

We have had crust rotation before. In the arctic there have been found frozen tropical plants. And many past species of life have quickly died off because of planetary events.

And if that show is correct, the Government is preparing, by building massive underground survival shelters. Of course they can't care for everyone, so the elite and powerful will have this entitlement. The masses of common people will be left to die.

So, I think it is highly possible. Maybe the Mayans knew things we didn't, maybe they had contacts we don't. or maybe "we" do, but this info is confidential.

A large part of me hopes it does happen. I think the world has been going to crap at a faster downward pace than ever before. And I'm 42, and it just depresses me to think I'm going to be doing this till I'm 65 or more, that is if I don't get laid off.

I also think before that time, we may have 1st real contact with ETs, I mean we look up one day and it's like "V".

I don't believe anything based on arbitrary calendar time. Something will shake up the status quo in the future, it's almost guaranteed, but it won't happen due to humans artificially segmenting time.

I don't think the 2012 prediction is this, but based on following the celestial cycles, and mapping it. So, it's not an artificial segment, but based on science. Like we predict the snurise, likewise we can predict where the Earth and Sun and such will be at a certain calendar time. It's not just a made up date. But what, if anything does happen, it's not fully known.

                    Interesting here.

I voted NO but I'm fascinated by the theories. I think that something volcanic might do us in and it may very well be influenced by the positioning of celestial bodies.

Of course a catastrophic collision is a definite, maybe not in our lifetime but it WILL happen again and again and again.

Pole shifts are inevitable, but I think they'll take thousands of years to happen. The planet will once again be a barren wasteland left for some future beings to discover. This will probably come to pass by the stripping of our atmosphere and magnetic protection. My, what a marvelous time that would be.

All-in-all I don't think that there's going to be a single event in December 1012 but I believe that ancient civilizations knew MUCH more than we think they did. Our present beliefs are so clouded by our own self-importance and religions that we are unable to see the forest from the trees.

We should boobytrap the exits! lol

I watched the Jesse episode last night, (missed the first 15min) and the mad rush over the past decade to build these shelters seemed worrying. Maybe it is just more elite and rich types just preparing as the world gets bigger so in essence you are going to have more and more shelters.

If there was some solid science behind a major happening then somebody would of or will be blowing the whistle here soon.
People in the loop would start selling off all of their assets and also would halt any future big corporate plans until after that date. What would be the point? if they know something. A cover perhaps but if you had that kind of information would you be putting a suit on and going to work or sitting by beach enjoying the last days.

Oh please.....the only celestial bodies that have any real measurable effect on us are the Sun and the Moon - and they have been tweaking our planet's crust back and forward for billions of years already.

This is one of the reasons that astrology is such complete bunkum. Gravity is the weakest of all the forces - it doesn't matter a jot what the stars are doing, the net effect on earth is zilch, zippo and nada compared to the forces already exerted by the sun and the moon.

Mind you - a volcanic event is a real possibility and there's a supervolcano under Yellowstone that could take out North America if it threw a major fit - and plunge the world into a mini ice age until the ash cleared out of the atmosphere.
