Christi, Guitar Hero also has a "practice" mode which allows the same thing, no "You Rock" meter so you can't get boo'ed off.
Ok fan boys....light 'em up. Ps3 vs Xbox360

Well I learn something new everyday. Does this apply for the GH world tour as well, like the Drums and such?

Yah I just bought it a couple months ago. My roomate is terrible, I mean your 5 year old probably has better coordination than him.
There is a practice mode for each one where you can't lose and also a beginners mode where you can kind of just hit any drum or guitar button and it will count as long as it is done at the right time. Like if it goes red, blue red yellow, you could press any color as long as it is at the right time.
It also has a practice mode where you can practice different parts of the song over and over again untill you perfect it.
I am not sure btu I would imagine you can't "beat" the song in practice mode. I don't know btu I imagine that would be the case.

That is good to know.
My girls just love to play GH. I actually bought them Pop Star, which is a generic form. You get these things that clip onto the remote, they have the colors, and you can play air guitar. I hope that works for them until I can afford what I really want

Of course I've played adventure for atari, but what about the original bubble bobble, castlevania, and double dribble for the Nes, some bad ass games there. also double dribble was ground breaking withe the slam dunk scenes lest we not forget cOntra, Zelda, and many of the mario franchise. And BTW I love mario Gaaxy, prollly the best game i've ever played, not that into killing people, I am much too cerebral, Tetris any one?

Castlevania was the jam! That's all I can contribute. I love to play GTA at my buddy's house, but if I try to play any other current games I get laughed at. And I always have to invert the look-up look-down settings. Question for you guys: how well do your wives/girlfriends tolerate all this video game playing?

I'd have voted for Xbox 360 myself until very recently. I'd avoided the PS3 due to cost, but I recently ended up buying a new TV and wanted a BluRay player to go with it......so I ended up buying a PS3 to perform that function - got a great deal on it too, so the games console kind of came free....
Now we've got 360, PS3 and Wii......haven't played the PS3 yet as it's wrapped up under the tree for the kids...

I'm a PC kinda guy, so I don't really have a horse in this race. But I'll be getting one or the other, maybe in '10, definitely by '11. And at this point I'm leaning toward PS3.

If your goign to get something in 2011 than get the PS#. It always takes several years after the platform is released for the good games to come out. Xbox is just getting those good games this year but playstation 3 is newer so probably will be in 2011. If you going to buy this year though xbox already has so many kickass games.
