So I'm finally going to buy a HDTV. I went the cheapest that has every thing I want. 1080. 42 inch. Computer connectivity. I found a Dynex from Best Buy that has all of this. Anyone ever buy anything from this brand? Is it any good? On the Best Buy site, it got decent reviews, but I figured I ask here, and I'm at work, so what else do I have to do!

I have a 50 inch vizeo 1080p that I got nearly brand new off craigs list for 300$, check out cragislist, there are a lot of people being foreclosed on and the first thign they start selling is their big TV's, our fmaily has bought 3 so far for rediculousely cheap prices.
Ive never heard of the brand your talking about, but I know vizeo, however cheapa brand it is, is very cheap and seems to be working for me!

My neighbor did a bunch of research and etc. and wound up with that Dynex after Christmas last year. So far, so good, no problems, and he loves it.Originally posted by VeganpunkSo I'm finally going to buy a HDTV. I went the cheapest that has every thing I want. 1080. 42 inch. Computer connectivity. I'm basically sans TV for quite a while now so that's all the help I can give you.

Same, I haven't had a TV in forever. I hooked one up briefly during the 9-11 stuff, but after a week I got tired of watching planes crash into buildings, so I put it back in the basement.Originally posted by MojoQuestor

Might as well go for the 52"instead of a 50"...those extra 2 inches can make a difference you know! :P
Seriously...I would keep an eye on BestBuy's sales. That's where we got our 52" monstrosity of a TV. It's a Sharp 1080p with all the inputs that you could possibly need. It was on sale for $1400 back in January of 08, which was a great price at the time, and then it jumped back up to almost $2000 after that sale. If you have the room, I would go with the bigger model. They take so little actual floor space now that you can fit them into even smaller rooms or mount them on the wall. You'll be glad you did go with the bigger one once the Superbowl comes around
But if 42" is really all you want, then I'd say to still check those sales at BestBuy.

Yah i'm the same way, mainly just use mine for games. I bought my wife a standard 32 inch regular TV for the room so she can watch her mindless reality shows. meanwhile I (mindlessly) play xbox and watch HULU on the 50 in HDTV. It's as American a plan as I could think of.Originally posted by VeganpunkI don't watch TV. I play video games and watch movies. That's why I want the computer connectivity. So I can stream the few shows on TV I do like. (The Simpsons, The Office, Heroes, It's Always Sunny)

I love Newegg, and they really did me right one time on a modem that I fully admitted was killed by lightning. I bought almost all my stuff from them when I actually bought anything online besides snusOriginally posted by bakerbarbertigerdirect.com

Tiger Direct, I put my current sweet box together from a pile of budget parts they put together as a package (a kickin box for ~$300), and my boss got a CanoScan scanner from them 6-7 years ago that still works to this day. I bought one almost like it off eBay a few years ago, and it survived my screwing it up and having to disassemble and reassemble it (on a day I quit smoking--major aggravation--and I went for another few months, somehow). Sorry, kind of rambling post, but Tiger Direct, thumbs up, Newegg, two thumbs up.
