So you want to live forever? Hope you got 20 years to wait

Lol, some outrageous but possible claims by this scientists that has a pretty sci-fi theory on the future. Says in 20 years we will be immortal.

I think his ideas will all come true one day, but definately not in 20 years.

    Here's the gist of it:

"Ultimately, nanobots will replace blood cells and do their work thousands of times more effectively.

"Within 25 years we will be able to do an Olympic sprint for 15 minutes without taking a breath, or go scuba-diving for four hours without oxygen.

"Heart-attack victims – who haven't taken advantage of widely available bionic hearts – will calmly drive to the doctors for a minor operation as their blood bots keep them alive.

"Nanotechnology will extend our mental capacities to such an extent we will be able to write books within minutes.

"If we want to go into virtual-reality mode, nanobots will shut down brain signals and take us wherever we want to go. Virtual sex will become commonplace. And in our daily lives, hologram like figures will pop in our brain to explain what is happening.

"So we can look forward to a world where humans become cyborgs, with artificial limbs and organs."

Scuba diving, without question. I'd like to go treasure hunting without equipment.

I did mention there is the option of going into virtual reality mode to watch porn... perhaps you overlooked it.

with 4 hours without oxygen, I'd rather do something in or close to space.

Yeah, I also read somewhere in the mid-1980's that we'd all be driving floating cars by 2010. Instead, we're still burning oil.

Ah, well. Science Fiction is fun to read.

Lol, yah I think scientists predicting the future is a big FAIL on most accounts.

It's why I don't believe future predictions about global warming and it is why I don't believe this guy's pie in the sky prediction either.

Someday though the world he describes may exist, but in a far off distant future.

Oh man, I KNEW IT before I even clicked the link. Ray Kurzweil is a complete nut job; believe me!

This is the guy who swallows 200 vitamins per day, drinks a gallon of red wine every week, and 15 cups of green tea per day in his bid to live forever. He's also the same guy who has his father cryogenically stored to one day resurrect!!!

LOL, but he's a millionaire. he can afford it.

If Metal Gear Solid 4 taught us anything, it's that we probably shouldn't put nanobots in ourselves.

                    LOL.

Who wants to live forever with big brother using nanobots to track you everywhere you go? Minority Report, no thanks.... :P

With this (obserd) technology, we would face a population crisis.

I vote for introducing a lottery death system like in that one movie (i forget name)

Lmao, it would be fun for 20 years to do whatever you want, but then it gets boring. Immortality fails. =P

Though it would be fun to see how humans **** up the world moar.

But that's the biggest problem, if humans wouldn't never die,how fast this planet would go from bad overpopulation to critical overpopulation.
