They give the forum an additional layer of intrigue beyond snus and make for a better read. And make it more fun to reply sometimes. Other times, as I am learning, it's best to keep my snus-hole closed.

Snus is interesting, but not as interesting as the big three (sex, religion, and politics). Or is it the big four (+sports)?

This is the internets. On an open forum.

If you get offended easily you shouldn't have a keyboard.

I love, repeat LOVE, snus! I love talking about snus. BUT, you can only talk about one topic for so long before you burn out. I enjoy "controversial" threads. They are interesting and educational. The problem is, for some reason, there are certain individuals that for some reason become enraged when others don't share the same opinion as them. Opinions are like fingerprints. There are no two people in this world that share the exact same opinion on anything. That bring said, it baffles me that. Some feel it necessary to belittle and resort to name calling towards those with different opinions. I don't care whether it's religion, politics, or world events, if you weren't directly involved, or witnessed with your own eyes, then you form an opinion based on the evidence that fits your beliefs. Therefore, basically when you attack someone about their opinions' you're attacking that person for doing exactly what you did...they formed an opinion. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me. So if you feel the need to call someone an idiot, or stupid, go look in the mirror and call the person that you see an idiot. It's pretty much as productive as belittling someone else.

End of rant...it made sense in my head...lol!

I'm in complete agreement with you Badfish

The purpose of these threads is to keep us entertained until a new shipment of Snus comes in the mail to review or a question pops into our head regarding snus.

It is damn near impossible to change anyone's mind even if you are sitting directly in front of them.

Issues do seem to arise when people: a) take rebuttals as a personal attacks. b) personal attacks are made on the person instead of a response to the argument at hand.

Slanderous comments when delivered "strategically" are effective in that they both rebut the person's arguments and at the same time belittle them for their beliefs.

Examples of this can be found littered throughout this site...

Nevertheless, sometimes fire must be met with fire, however in the end both parties get burned.

That said, I grew up playing with matches...

While we're on the subject of controversial topics...let's discuss! Legalization of marijuana...for or against?!

I personally have smoked my fair share of herb. Currently I have not touched it in over a year, and don't see myself toking up in the near future. It has nothing to do with the health issues, or the fact that it's illegal. I just lost interest.

That being said, I am totally for legalization. I'm not going to go into detail right now as to why. Suffice it to say that basically I see nothing wrong with it.

I would love to "hear" your opinions on this matter. Let's try to be civil folks!

Legalize it NOW! I've tried more or less whats out there to be tried, and I can honestly say that marihuana is the mildest, most harmless in the catalogue, while alcohol (available anywhere) is just about the worst and most dangerous I've ever tried, and if anything should be illegal it should be this. Believe me, I'd trust a pothead -- never a drunk f***.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I completely agree with the statement that alcohol is way more dangerous than pot. Not only have studies shown that it poses more health threats, it also has had a more negative impact on society. I myself enjoy my fair share of alcohol, but I am very responsible. I'm fairly certain that alcohol will never again be outlawed. I mean God forbid we take our lawmaker's bourbon or scotch away from them.

It's just my .02 but if the government could legalize marijuana and figure out a FAIR way to tax it, then everybody could win. Oh well, one can dream!

I have been a member at many forums. The ones that I ended up leaving
where the ones that decided to go fuzzy fuzzy good time.
I.O.W. stopping the controversial stuff. I have always been able to discuss things on the Internet without getting nasty or personal (well, most of the time, and I always regret it when I do get nasty and personal).

For me, it's one of the best things with a forum, and the best indicator of a good community.
