This country would be in a hell of a lot better shape if all our leaders were as principled as Carter ;^)

1975-2015: Apathy to Dependence [The National Malaise to Economic Ruin brought on by the Bush edit Obama regime].

Good, insightful post. Just had to fix that one "little" error for you.

/Congressional Budget Office: From their figures, Obama's projected debts from unbridled insanity will be greater than the debts from George Washington's THROUGH George W. Bush's debts. COMBINED.

which President hasn't screwed over the country in the past 4 decades?

they all have, blaming the President is like blaming the queen of England.

It's the system that's screwing us, and it changes it's face every 4-8 years.

Our Legislative branch is corrupt, our executive branch is corrupt and our judicil system is in serious need of an overhaul... and is ultimately corrupt because the executive branch appoints it highest members.

            to sum it up, FUBAR.

Obama and Bush are NOT running the country. Nor was Clinton, Bush Sr., etc. etc. While they are all scumbags, they are the puppet face. Bankers run everything, and always will until they are hanging from lightpoles and bridges. The parties are the same. There is effectively little to no difference.
Im not pro-Obama by any means, but he's just the new (black) face to lull us into complacency. It looks progressive to the masses. Recite your catch phrase "hope, change, yes we can" enough times and people will buy into it like its something new. Well, Im not buying it. The Federal Reserve runs this country. "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes the laws" - Mayer Amschel Bauer. His sons also said the same thing. As this subject pisses me off, I wont write anymore.....

Obama did more damage to this country in eight weeks than Bush did in eight years. It's all uphill from here, right.?

Nanny States just work like that, they love to protect us from ourselves for us... Or something.

I excpect any day now to hear about a new obligatory helmet law for pedestrians here in Finland.. I bet it is initiated by greens or by social demons.. err.. ..democrats..

It's all uphill, but Obama was left to fix the damage caused by Bush. There aren't any good ways to fix this mess, and any solution is going to suck.

Back to the original topic, Obama instigated the biggest tobacco tax hike in history. I fail to see how this is Bush's fault.

That started before Obama got in office, and it's passage was inevitable. When the country has been bankrupted, whose going to turn down money, especially when it's "for the kids"?

Being pretty much ignorant of the fine detailsof US history and politics, but didn't you have a period when the idea was something like: "Commerce with all nations, alliance with none" ??

How much these wars much cost you yearly and what else could be done with that money?

Sorry for being so rude and ignorant about this.. Back to library reading your history... ops:

I agree with you on the latter, but even when the country was just as bad off financially as it is now, Bush repeatedly vetoed the tax hike.

That motto went out the window when the powers-that-be realized that you couldn't have one without the other.
