Not necessarily, LaZ...
"We are completely sold out of the first issue. Stay tuned during the next couple of months when we start getting newsstand returns in to sell as back issues. This will roughly coincide with the launch of Volume Two, sometime in January-February 2011. " http://www.stephemeris.com/

Originally posted by snusgetterI'm assuming/hoping that's a typo and you mean Nov 4 !?!Yeah, he meant November 4th.
And as you pointed out, we may get some newsstand copies returned the next two months, if so, we'll put them up on the site for you guys that missed out on the first go-round. That's assuming that we don't sell out in the ~20 or so stores that are carrying us at the moment, but you never know. We're also looking at distribution through a well-known online tobacco vendor so you guys in the UK don't get reamed with shipping charges; you can just add a copy of the Ephemeris to your cart the next time you order some tobacco online...
Overall, it has been a very successful first run, and the feedback we've received so far has been highly favorable. I'm personally not satisfied with the overall print quality of the book though; some of the colors came out faded and a lot of the detail has been lost in the smaller pics. Some of the earlier run was edged too closely, meaning some of the type at the edge of a couple of pages was lost (but not enough to make it unreadable). Still, the printer that I used must be commended for being able to turn the entire run out in one day, despite the flaws.
It's been a learning experience for Mick and I, and we hope to have all these little trifles fixed by the second issue. We have absolutely no experience in the magazine publishing business, so this has all been a seat-of-the-pants flight for all involved.

( Not really, it was just to early in the morning to be posting.)

Got my copy today! WOO HOO!! It has exceeded my expectations. I was expecting a magazine, instead it is similar to a paperback book! There's a ton of info in this mag, it is going to take me a while to read! I love the small size, this is much better, sturdier than a regular size thin paper magazine, such as Time, People, etc..I won't even comment on the printing as we all know this issue has issues. From the little that I've read (I just got the mag 15 mins ago) I'm already interested in a subscription for future issues.

I haven't even received my copy yet but I'm reminded of the days when a
new edition of a favorite magazine was anticipated with the same fervor as
a kid's expectations at Christmas! Definitely pre-WorldWideWeb; hell, the
'tunnels' at that point were unknown to most of the world.
Alternative magazines were always high on the list of good reads until they
either died or went mainstream (not that there's much difference). Mother
Earth News was one such publication that readily comes to mind. The Snuff
Taker's Ephemeris is already implanted in my mind as the early MEN of the
alternative tobacco movement due to its disdain of government regulations
that encroach on the liberties of the citizenry. I can't wait to check out the
articles!!
Based on the glowing reviews I've seen so far (all 3 of them!), and the idea
that STE will be around for a while, I'm anxious for a subscription plan.

I received my copy yesterday and was very impressed with a must read for tobacco lovers. I'm looking forward to future issues and also interested in a subscription when subscriptions become available.

I wish there was a way to see what local retailers may have it, I know it was available at some news stands.
