The kiseru pipe isn't really all that well suited for smoking normal pipe tobacco, just so you know. If you get a kiseru, be sure to get some of their pipe tobacco to go with it. As far as taste goes, you're in for a "surprise". Get some and you'll know...

Churchwardens, including the ones that look like those from LoTR are actually regular sized bowls - they just seem smaller compared to regular pipes because of the longer stem. Vauen (german) makes some excellent copies of the pipes used by Gimli, Gandalf, etc. in the movies. The pipes are a bit unwieldy, but they're excellent for those relaxing moments in quiet contemplation (as is any pipe really).

I have a few pipes from Stanwell that come with churchwarden stems as well as regular stems. However, the churchwarden stems remain a novelty to me even if they make the smoke that much cooler.

Right now I'm puffing away on some Orlik Golden Sliced in a nice Refbjerg

I am a pipesmoker too. Though I use dip and snus slightly more. Favourite regular blends are Carter Hall, Prince Albert, Macbaren Navy flake and RLP-6, though I keep a healthy stock of other blends.
Pipe tobacco is good for cellaring, I have currently around 25 to 30 pounds of it squirreled away for the time when I cannot get my favourite blends delivered over this side of the pond. Problem is with all this snus to try and my regular orders of dip, money is the problem

Nothing beats a great evening with a pipe and friends.

As for me, I prefer English pipes and English style tobacco. Luckily I hoarded a goodly amount of Dunhill's London Mixture before the decision was made to discontinue it here.
