I was pleased to find my Toque order in my PO Box when I checked it on my lunch hour. Thanks a bunch, Roderick -- love the super-fast shipping! I also appreciate that each tin was carefully nestled in its own little zip-lock baggie, in case of spillage en route. It's attention to little details like that which are the mark of companies with superior customer service.
I have only one disappointment -- and this is not really a complaint, more an expression of frustration -- and that's the tins literally reek of ammonia. I could smell it even before I opened the package. Of course, I have a much more sensitive nose than most, so that's probably part of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to get super-fresh snuff. I'm just sorta aggravated that I can't sample all the flavors right away. Patience never has been a strong suit of mine.
I did sample the Cherry Menthol, as it seemed to be the least smelly (I think the menthol masked most of the ammonia), and was very pleased. Just the right amount of menthol to be refreshing, but not so much as to be overbearing. The cherry flavor is very faint at first, but gets a little stronger over time. If it had a little more cherry, it would be perfect IMO. But I've got cherry flavoring in the cabinet, so I can adjust it to suit my taste. Very easy to take, too.
I'm airing all 10 tins now, and thinking about putting them in one of those Fresh Extend baggies overnight. I've used that trick before with snus, and it works well to get the ammonia smell out faster. I'm looking forward to sampling the rest and sharing my impressions.
