I'll probably do just that, after payday. That ten 10g tin deal seems very reasonably priced, and a good way to sample a bunch of Toque's flavors. But I may order the QWS Sandalwood from Mr. Snuff, too.

Very good guide and read.. For my first time I'll probably do Roderick's suggestion with placing it a bit moist to start off with.

Mr. H. I had good luck starting off with teensy little finger/thumb pinches, getting used to the effect, and gradually increasing the amounts. Have worked my way up to "normal" size in only two weeks and that was starting with Garrett which is supposedly not a good place at all for beginners to start. I have tried a half dozen more in the last couple of days and the cautious approach is working very well. Much happiness.

Forget Quit with Snuff (it's the McDonald's of snuff). If you like Sandalwood try Fribourg and Treyer Santo Domingo.

The moisture and grind make this very easy to manage and a great place to start especially for a sandalwood lover (though If over used...i.e. all day) it may clog you up a bit.

Grab a tin of it and Toque Whiskey and Honey.........the two will balance each other and are both great entrance into the world of snuff

I wondered about that, when I saw how cheap Mr. Snuff's sale prices were on QWS. Nevertheless, I may still buy a little just because of the great price. But I'll add a vial of Santo Domingo, too. Thanks for the recommendation. Toque Whiskey and Honey was already one of the flavors I picked out for their ten 10g tin deal.

                Fury,
Not to change the subject but that wouldn't be a receiver for a AR-15 would it??

Anyways I have some torque, Blueberry, Honey & Wiskey, Cherry, Coke, and two other cans that I forget. I haven't tried them yet just because I always put in a snus before even thinking about it, but I will try it one of these days.

I would definitely recommend that everyone try snuff. It's a wicked cool experience but a terror on the schnoz if yours is sensitive (allergies, etc.)

I think the amount of nic you get from a snuff is partly related to the fineness of the grind. There are different natural nic levels in different tobaccos, but the grind also changes the surface area and effects the absorption. I'll never forget my first hit...it was W.E Garrett. Oh God.

Pipen, you've got to add Spanish Gem, Natural, Blueberry, and Original to your order. If you like the original then you will then want to explore the world of SP snuffs. It's a particular flavoring that is in a category of its own. It's by far my favorite type of snuff.

Those are really good reccomendations................. all solid offerings and each representing a different genre in the world of snuff

Speaking of SP, I tried quite a bit of the SP's myself and feel that Toque has the best (IMO).

Spanish Gem and Blueberry are on the list. I also added Quit, which I understand is similar to Natural, but with more nicotine. And isn't Spanish Gem an SP also?

I'm also thinking about adding a Schmalzer to my Mr. Snuff order, and I'm sure I can find an American Scotch locally. Will that cover all the different types, or do you more experienced gentlemen have other recommendations? I'm open to them, but better hurry -- I'll probably be placing my orders tomorrow.

PipenSnus, I believe the Gem is a little too sweet to be an SP, but it might be.

Another one to check out is Wilsons Of Sharrow's Crumbs Of Comfort.

Yes, I know Crumbs of Comfort has lots of fans. I'm sure I'll get around to trying it sooner or later.

Curiously, I remembered yesterday that I already have a nice little wooden snuffbox. Of course, when I bought it several years ago, I had no thought of using snuff -- it was just a cute little wooden box with a tight-fitting, slide-off lid. Coincidence or premonition?
