First time experimenting with nasal snuff

A little background first. I had smoked 1 to 2 packs of marlboro reds a day until about 6 months ago. Went the first few months of quitting with nicotine gum. Then started dipping mint Skoal. Tried marlboro snus...blah. Did some research about a month ago and ordered Swedish snus...love. Then...PACT...blah. Found Snuson...read a bit about nasal snus. Drove to my local cigar shop and found out (much to my surprise) that they carry much snuff. Now here I sit. Pouring rain outside. A few tins in front of me. Wish me luck.
    Putting on my lab coat.

I'll be interested to see what you think, Mike.

I've never tried it, but see people talking about it here all the time.

I just may try it sometime myself.

McChrystal's supermint is super good, IMO.

Never had any of the Ozona/Poshl's. Very beginner friendly is what they're saying.

Buttercup is super fine snuff that is to be sniffed very lightly, not really for beginners.

Edit- Buttercup has the most nicotine of the bunch

Tried the Buttercup first. I am funny like this...never tell me something "isn't for beginners". But, wow, you are right. Really took just a tad too much a first. Wham. Burning. One eye left watering. Not really sure how to describe the taste. Waited a few minutes and did less up the other side. Still had a good burn but less crying. I can really feel the nicotine, and for me, that is saying something. I have only been snussing for a month and I double barrel xtra sterks to get a good nic wave. The Buttercup got my head swimming.

                  lol...Mike.

Good for you on trying the Buttercup first without blowing your head off. Just take it slow and the rewards will benefit.

I was never a dipper and have smoked for 25 years before laying them down for good, all in all I do enjoy the snuff better than snus. I still have that occasional snus, but nothing will replace the" 4 pinches an hour" snuff

Boston Mike, heres a little tip, something that I didn't figure out till I had been using snuff for over a month... go outside. For some reason the fresh, outside air really brings out the 'flavors'. My favorite, Toque Whiskey and Honey, I didn't really like at first till I went outdoors into the fresh air.

Just tried the McChrystal's. I like. I never dug menthol cigarettes but it feels great up the nose. Actually soothing after my round with the Buttercup. Wish I knew to tap the tin first, though, spilled quite a bit out when opening. It all landed on my hand so I didn't loose any. I brushed it off onto a plate and used the corner of a credit card to bring little bumps up to my nose. (Don't ask me where i learned this trick.)

Thanks for the tip,Fury. I will give it a try,but it is pretty hot and very humid outside now.
