I actually just finished the Xmas Pudding I ordered last year, a couple of weeks ago. Just keep the can closed tight, and keep the can in the bag it comes with.
With economy bags, I just make sure to squeeze all the air out of both bags before closing, then wrap it in aluminum foil. I'm working on a 100g bag of Whisky And Honey that I got back in June. Still nice and fresh today.
