Getting seeds from your plants

The question reminds me of a thread in a German tobacco growing forum, 2 years ago. One member asked how to get seeds from the plants and some other members gave no other answers but "wait till the time has come", not even after the original poster politely asked for more informations.
I didn't really know what to think of that, because the seed vessels looked pretty complicated from the pictures that I had seen, not like it would be easy to get the seeds. Well, I didn't become a member of that forum.
5 months later I knew what the old members of that forum meant. It really was the best advice: wait till the time has come! The seeds literally fall out of the vessels by themselves. You only have to wait till the seed vessels open up a bit and then you can poor the seeds out. They will be fertile unless you have grown hybrids or genetically manipulated plants.
Cheers!

You let your plants flower instead of topping them and they develop seed pods.
This guy is a very strange character but you'll learn a thing or two from watching his videos.
He's got a lot of tobacco growing videos.

by BasseBluesThis has gotten long overdue, but I finally managed to put together a video and a post at creatinker.com from the harvest and curing of my tobacco. I...After a warm and sunny season with a good amount of rain, it's time to harvest and cure the tobacco. A new thing I'm trying for the first time is to cure the tobacco outside only sheltered from the rain. This has prevented most of the tobacco to dry in a green state. If it got dry during the day, the higher humidity during the night and the morning dew made it moist and supple again during the night.
