    Northerner swiss post cap?

    Good title, right?

I have been putting together a nice big "stock the freezer" order of about 50 cans from Northerner. When I got to the choose shipping page I was only allowed to pick UPS for 54 bucks and change. Is there a cap on the size of orders shipped through Swiss Post?
I really have been happy with Northerner but I am pretty sure UPS is run by Satan so needless to say, I must go elsewhere for this order.

I'm going to getsnus with most of this order (free shipping!) and will place a small order for the stuff I want (Taboca Los) from Northerner at a later date...maybe.

    Right?

Plan B sounds reasonable. If you want to get it through Northerner, you could email them and ask about regular postage. I'm with you on UPS. I'd rather ship by pigeon than with them.

Just split the order and place them one after the other. The Swiss Post cap is about 3 1/2 to 4 rolls depending on the weight.

What is wrong with UPS in USA?
Are they missing packages? Packages damaged? Delays?

From Sweden to Poland UPS is best options for 2+ rolls.
I have use them many times and they managed to damage part of the content of only 2 packages:

        - with one order about month ago they crushed a bit one metal tin of Mocca
        - with order about year ago they smashed one box of roll of Kronan

For more than dozen deliveries it is not bad I think. And they are always on time.

A lot of people in the U.S. have trouble with UPS. I use them all the time, and I've never had a problem.

All of the above. I've never had anything important break, but it's only a matter of time. I used to buy rolling tobacco online, and I'd get the boxes from UPS with the sides crushed. Good thing it wasn't computer equipment, or something valuable.

To top it all off, they're expensive as hell. I could deal with damaged items if it was significantly cheaper to ship that way, but they have the balls to charge more for the service :^S

UPS does a real good job for me but I would never use them for international shipments because of their fondness for charging for their Customs Brokerage services.

I've seen just as many damaged packages USPS vs UPS.

And people need to make fair comparisons. Above a certain weight USPS becomes Parcel Post (unless you pay extra) which is equal to UPS ground. I've got a 1lb+ package making it's way from Washington state to Florida now. I fully expect it to take a week to get here. My UPS parcel from North Carolina to Florida is only 2 days.

When companies get big enough they usually open up a western warehouse to speed up deliveries to people on the west coast.

My main problem is the price. The total snus itself costs 9 dollars more through getsnus but there is no shipping cost. Even if I split the order I'm looking at atleast 40 bucks shipping so financially its the best way to go.
UPS is not my favorite way to ship for the price. I like FedEx myself for speedy (expensive) shipping but USPS has never done me wrong.

Well if you are "stocking the freezer" speed shouldn't be an issue.

On large orders with free shipping on orders over $50, GetSnus is hard to beat on price. Order everything you can from them and place an order with Northerner/BuySnus to fill in what GetSnus doesn't carry.

I was surprised to find that Northerner has a damn good selection at their US warehouse now. You might check that out too.

The bulk of the order is Gotlands and some nasal snuff(went to nicotine rush,I pay state tax but it arrives next day with regular shipping and Tom is awesome). So most of the stuff I order isn't in the US warehouse yet...so I went with getsnus. I actually put a small "tide me over till the big one" order in to Northerner on the 30th and it hasn't come yet (first order since they changed posts). Every other time I've ordered from them its been 8 days max.
If they get Gotlands in the US warehouse I'll be all set. A US order takes four days to get here.
I like being loyal to a good company and really don't mind the wait for snus (I still have a few cans of General kicking around) but if I can get free shipping on a large order and it turns out cheaper and just happens to get here faster...

I have yet to use UPS for a snus order (don't trust packages being left at my house if i'm not home). Lately my orders have been from getsnus. My last order was fairly large and i just asked them if it was possible to send it USPS because of my 'paranoia' and they did without hesitation.

Priority mail is only a nickel more than parcel post and it's 2 to 3 days to anywhere in the US and if you buy the postage on line you get free tracking

To answer original question, yes, their is a cap for regular mail. We figured it out one day, it is based on weight, not money spent. can't remember what that limit was. But splitting up orders will avoid that issue.

using UPS into the states usually ends up in costing extra customs brokerage fees from UPS.. you'll get the bill from them a week or so after the package..

                              that kinda blows
