I wrote to buysnus.com, and they were very apologetic about the lost can of snus. They're going to resend the Ettan, as well as 2 additional cans of Phantom, and give me 10% off my next order. I thought that was very generous of them, and is an exemplary example of customer service 8)

That's superb customer service! Am I to understand buysnus.com ships in envelopes, while Northerner in boxes?

As far as I know that's the case. I've only placed 1 order from The Northerner(24 can sample pack), and it came in a box. Buysnus uses a bubble wrapped envelope with a paper exterior. I think a Tyvek envelope would probably work better. Those things are almost indestructible.

I love that Northerner 24 pack! I'll always remember that as my introduction to snus. But with all the hype about loose, I couldn't resist and ordered a couple of cans of General loose from Iwan Ries out of Chicago: http://www.iwanries.com/Swedish_Snus_C1410.cfm
It was basically the cheapest way for me to try loose after investing in the 24 pack.

Northerner also ships in bubble packs. It's only the Swedish Match sample pack that comes in a box, as far as I know.

Well, my order is a day later than usual and still not here. So far the Swiss Shipping has not been good for me. :x

Same here, actually. A day later than it usually takes w/ Northerner & Swedish Post. So far, buysnus.com + Swiss Post isn't looking all that speedy.

Then again, I'm never one to expect consistency from any national postal service.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still a BuySnus supporter (after all, I just gave them a lot of money in return for product ), but the prevailing opinion seems to be that Swiss Post might not have been the best idea. I think I'll most likely save up for the extra $35 (!!) or so to ship my next order via UPS, just so I don't look like a complete and utter moron every time I go to the mailbox and just see bills.

Transcript of my mail check today:
jqlynch: I'm going to go see if the mail's here.
                  jqlynch's cat: meow
jqlynch: Wow, I'm talking to my cat. I guess no one else is home.
                  jqlynch's other cat: mrrrow
                  jqlynch: Shut up.
[Bring in the bills and realize that there's no packages]
                  jqlynch: Mother-F***ER!!
                  jqlynch's neighbor: Language, young man!
                  jqlynch:

Well, make that two days later than usual for me. Still no package..

So far, the Swiss Post method has not impressed me.

This will officially be my longest wait time for an order after confirmation of shipping. I must say, I don't see what's so great about Swiss post.

I am officially unimpressed with Swiss Post delivery times. Still no snus.

I just found out that in my case, Swiss Post isn't to blame. buysnus.com had set a tentative ship date of the day after I ordered, but never actually shipped the order. Apparently, they were backordered and didn't mention it in the past couple weeks. It was my first order, so I didn't realize that they didn't send me a notification that they had actually shipped it.

So, Swiss Post, if you're listening, it's not your fault.

And while buysnus is throwing in some extra as an apology, it's always frustrating when folks can't at least let you know that something's gonna ship a week and a half late.

I wish I could say it was BuySnus, but I got the shipping confirmation email on 10/23. If it was BuySnus, maybe they'd offer me extra snus, too.

Well, my order arrived today (in one piece, thankfully). Turnaround of 9 business days (8 if you don't factor in a lot of travel on shipment date). Swedish post seemed to work better.

I think that from now on, I've tried enough to where I can settle on some favorites, and just order rolls and the occasional one- or two-off cans, and since it's already going to be up there money-wise, I may just spring for UPS. :P

I just received my first shipment using the Swiss Post option. Seems like it took an extra day or two in arriving.

I was hoping for the opposite.

Still, on the plus side, I got a good mystery roll from buysnus and I can try out the new Phantom portions.
