We are very aware of the existence of this forum but BuySnus policy will still be to use our mail-system to communicate with our customers as we always have done.

In our opinion Snuson should be a forum for snus-users and NOT a marketing channel. We’ve sadly noticed that Snuson is rapidly evolving in that direction. Today there are too many postings that are written by persons associated (in person or by false identity) to manufacturers or shops with the only intention to market their shop or product!

If you (the members of snuson) think this is ok we could as well post every new launch and every change here on snuson, but the result will be that every posting starts: BuySnus.com – New snus, BuySnus.com – New gifts, BuySnus.com – New lower price and probably will the other shops do exactly the same and you will get no room for your own discussions.

We hope you agree that snuson should be an independent forum for snus-users and not for companies whose only reason to post is to make money!

I'd rather see you take advantage of our forum to say hello every once in a while.

Special notices would be nice. I imagine not everyone gets your emails.

I suspect some may be influenced by other companies involvement. Hard not to be.

The "box" is already open, don't let every other company take advantage while you sit on the sideline though.

I suppose, because I know that I will not have direct contact with the staff of BuySnus.com, we will have to agree to disagree on what a FORUM is all about.
FORUM- A latin word meaning-
The public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city that was the assembly place for judicial activity and public business.

From the feedback communications that I have seen it would appear that info posting and product awareness posting is exactly what drives interest, awareness and yes- commerce! I could not disagee more with the sentiment that this specific forum post- Snus Shops & Webstores- should not be used by suppliers to make interested consumers aware of their product offerings and services. At the end of the day, I certainly respect BuySnus.com for their corporate point of view, however I do not feel that the sensorship of this specific forum topic would serve anyone's interest but those who are afraid to see and/or respond to a little competiton in the marketplace.

With all the new business you have gained from using this forum as a means to gain business, have you made any offers to Ice to help maintain the site?

I am all for companies utilizing public forums to make money, but kickbacks should be arranged prior to.

Maybe I am out of line, but I do not see Ice enjoying paying to maintain this site so that others can piggyback off his expenses to only pad their own pockets.

I agree with both RobsanX and Baker. It's good to get the emails about what's upcoming but, there's nothing wrong with popping in to say "Hi" every now and again.

To Xobe's point, imo, all three of the main snus shops have seen an influx of business soley from SnusOn but, with BuySnus and Northerner, it has been from us talking about the service and products they provide. To be honest, the only way I knew about GetSnus was when John came in and told us about it. Long story short, I agree with you Xobe, if it were me, I'd talk to Ice about helping him support the forum. Just my 2¢.

Agreed, nothing wrong with popping in to say "HI" every now and again. Maybe let us know a little something thats going on in the business. I thought that's why we have a "Stores and online shops" section.

I seriously doubt any company would abuse or spam a respected forum such as this since it would just drive away business very quickly. No harm in being a human instead of an evil big corporate machine. I say you're missing an opportunity to really communicate with a large chunk of your consumer base.

Right. I haven't seen any company spamming SnusOn and, I hope nobody thinks I'm implying that SnusOn is. I pick my snus vendors based on the level of service I get and the vareity of products they have but, in the beginning, I made my first purchase from BuySnus based on the opinions I read here. I've made purchases from all three and, all three are great. What I like about GetSnus is, they are here in the US and, delivery is quick. I now have a source to buy smaller quantities at similiar prices as overseas and, don't have to wait 2 weeks for it. I will always buy full rolls from BuySnus or Northerner because, imo, it's fresher and, I feel it will last longer in the freezer. Again, just my opinion.

We could make a separate forum for vendor/company announcements. That way the issue is out of the picture.

One possible result would be that we'd have a lot of reps coming on here; everyone from SM to Camel might show up. Then we'd have to get some more mods.

I think that a donation button on the main forums might be a nice feature. All proceeds would go to maintaining the site. If Ice gets extra donations that result in profit, he could always have some snuson limited edition snus holders printed for us or something.

I think Buysnus raised a valid point and I appreciate their corporate stance on not using SnusOn to promote their store.

To me it shows that they have principles and are not afraid to let their customer service record (which is excellent) speak for itself

However, I believe that Buysnus should not stand back now that other providers are already posting here.

IMO either all the providers should participate in the manner suggested by Buysnus (subject headings indicating the content of the post & the poster) or all providers should be excluded from participating in discussions around stores. That way user generated content will drive the traffic to the provider with the best service and the providers will be limited to making announcements about new products.
