    Cool Story

Hey guys, just wanted to share a story with you. I am fairly new to snusing and instantly fell in love with it. Unlike many of you, I started snusing to stray away from American smokeless tobacco. The awful artificial flavoring and overall experience led me to search for other forms of smokeless tobacco. When I found out about snus, I just had to get my hands on some. With the help of the forum, I decided to put my first order in. I believe my first order from buysnus consisted of General onyx, Nick & Johnny West, Göteborgs Rapé No2, Phantom Blue, and Elyxer Energy (newbie mistake  ). As I delved into more brands and flavors, I knew this was the right replacement for dip. I used to go through a tin of Skoal a day, and now I can't even stand to smell the stuff. Now for the story. About a week ago, I had put a new order in at buysnus, as I was running low on snus. It usually takes about 4-5 days to get to my house in Rhode Island. I was expecting it Monday, but it hadn't come. I ran out around Saturday so I was already craving it. I had hoped it would come by today, but it didn't. Around 4:30 pm i decided to take action. I found that the closest shop that sold it was about 2 1/2 hours away. Not only was it far away, but the shop also closed at 7:00. I decided to try to get there on time despite the fact the odds were against me. I get to the shop around 6:58 as the clerk was getting ready to close. I rush in and ask where the Swedish Snus was located in the store. The clerk responded to my question with a confuzed stare followed by a response of "Swedish what?". My heart sank. I decided to take a look around for my self and was excited to find it! I picked up two cans of General Original portions, which hopefully will hold me over until I receive my order. I popped two portions in right as I got in my car. I got back to my house around 9:30. Some may say it was stupid. A 5 hour drive for snus. I say it was worth it.

    Punk Rock man!

It's incredible what a man will do for an addiction huh?

While I was waiting for my first shipment I drove about an hour away for some camel snus to at least try something!

I got my first one and it was Wise Citrus / Menthol and it is an acquired taste to say the least (I actually ordered more!)

Well, it wasn't doing it for me at first so I drove about 1.5 hours each way to buy some Triumph stuff.

Good stuff man! My wife was looking at me oddly but hey, all is fair in love and addiction.

    P.S. Welcome to the boards!

Welcome to the forums! The nearest store to me is right at 100 miles away in Illinois. Luckily I haven't had to drive down to get snus yet...

I'm curious as to what the expiration dates on your cans are. Since the clerk had no idea what you were talking about I wonder how much they actually sell...

When I was waiting for my first order, I decided to drive about an hour to pickup some snus. Picked up a can of general portions and a can of general wintergreen. The general portions was past the expiration date so he gave it to me for free.

The cans were surprisingly fresh with an expiration date of 01/01/2009. I had failed to mention that the clerk was a cute young girl in what seemed to be in her late teens or early twenties. I was also surprised to see that the sticker at the bottom of the can was in English. Also, I should have mentioned the name of the store, since this is the Stores and Online Shops section of the forums. The name of the place was Butthead's Tobacco Emporium in Newtown, CT. Go figure, I got my shipment in today.

That story reminds of the time I was waiting for my first order of snus and out of desperation I walked to a marathon and got a can of skoal to try it and low and behold it was disgusting. It was the first time Ive used American dip and it was the last. But I did learn a funny lesson and new understanding why my grandfather(R.I.P) used it all the time. No wonder the man was cranky when we were around sometimes..he was buzzing!

I can't think of a better reason to drive 3 hours round trip. Hell, I would have been humming happily to myself the whole way home . Welcome! (It was probobly a beutiful fall drive anyway.)
