PP isn't here right now and I know he can speak for himself perfectly well but I do need to point out that when Northerner was very very bad, PP said they were bad. What PP wants imo is that all these snus companies survive and do well. It benefits all of us through supply and competition.

When placing an order and having it delivered with UPS; local custom charges etc may be applied depending on the country and states with U.S. However it doesn't apply to all parts of the world and no we unfortunately do currently not stand for these fees. This is reflected on the prices on the website

When it comes to snus we've all got a bit of whore in us. I'm unashamedly an Odens whore - in case anybody missed that.

Yeah this site likes Northerner but why would you care so much? Buyers know who the best companies are no matter what anybody says.

I believe that to be an isolated case. Probably an error by UPS. I remember UPS has tried this before in the past with a couple of the members. They simply tossed it in the trash with no further mention from UPS. Johanna should be commenting on this soon. Then we will all know exactly whats up.

With all the orders I have placed with northerner I have never received a bill from UPS.

You must smile more, and have prettier legs. I asked Northerner specifically if they use Delivery Duty Paid, and some guy named Helpdesk just said "You pay the local state taxes when the package arrive instead of when its placed and there might be local brokerage fees." Brokerage was the bulk of the bill.
BuySnus says "In addition to having to use UPS only, we also stand for all applicable customs fees and ship DDP (Delivery Duty Paid). Our customers do therefore not have to worry about being billed any additional customs fees upon receipt of their orders. Therfore our prices might be higher than those Northerner can offer." I dunno, somebody in government always tries to shake more money out of our pockets for things we enjoy.

The bill from UPS lists US Customs and Brokerage fees. Nothing specific to Illinois. In any case, BuySnus covers it, and Northerner doesn't, which may explain slightly higher prices at BuySnus and SnusCentral

I think we are referring to different taxes/customs fees. I believe the export/clearing fees are paid for by most of the vendors. But they can't pay the customs fees where the package has been sent to. Like Canada, the customs tax is somewhere around $9 per tin. The end user has to pay for that.

I've neverin all these years received a bill from UPS connected with an order from northerner. Odens yes but never northerner or buysnus. I doubt that anyone else has. Northerner pays that fee as well.

Northerner told me directly that they don't pay for duty and brokerage stuff. It's my responsibility when I order from them. BuySnus told me that they cover it, by paying for DDP (Del Duty Paid) at their end, and I should never receive a bill for duty or brokerage fees.

I'm not sure of the actual percentage of the shipping cost that The Northerner ends up with on each sale but I'll bet it comes to maybe 10% of the overall shipping cost charged.

The rest goes to all the suggested costs of transit perviously mentioned. I read somewhere where The Northerner must collect numerous taxes on each sale (and pay them) prior to shipping.
