    Selling To U.S.

Why do some shops sell Skruf to U.S., but not sell Lucky Strike or others? Why will Northerner sell Jaks melon to U.S., but not Skruf, Lucky Strike, etc?

Lucky Strike is fear of Lawyers, Trademark restriction. The rest may just be FDA submits, and the lack of. Montecristo is Cuban trade embargo.

LS and proper camel are due to trademark restrictions, reynolds owns LS and camel in the US rest of the world is JTI.

Oh yeah. But like, I thought Skruf couldn't be sold cause of FDA, but northerner sells Jaks melon which is not FDA approved, but won't sell Skruf. Weird.

I thought Jaks was approved? Doesn't buysnus and snus central sell skruf to the US?

buysnus sells skruf to the U.S i know northerner does as well as i ordered it from there once. Would it really be that difficult to just call it strucky like for U.S sales? I understand a brand is a brand but were all dying for LS here in the states could it just be renamed for the U.S market?

i've tried them all. i've had a can of Montecristo for a week and have used one portion out of it. lucky strike is good but nothing to get excited about. Swedish camel to me taste like a general knock-off. We always want what we can't have I guess.

Back when I was a teenager coors beer was only sold out west. i knew a truck driver who brought house trailers from there to here. He would load them up with coors and bring it here. I would sell cases of that stuff for like four times the retail price. people would scarf it up like their life depended on it. I don't drink any more but to me coors was like water in a can yet people would sell their mommas wedding ring to get a taste haha.

The only verboten snus I miss is LD and Motecristo lös. I really like the Lucky lös tins, but that's gone regardless of location.

Like snusomatic said. we all want what we cant have. An underground snus market would probably start if a shit flavored snus was banned in the U.S

Also i misspoke before. I meant to say I know melon is available on northerner. I know skruf isnt.

Yes, we know that for certain :-) They've submitted the 905-J required by the FDA, but the FDA hasn't approved ANY new tobacco products since early 2011. Which I'm sure is their end game for any tobacco product. The sad part is that some of the best snus flavors are hung up in the FDA, which means I can't sell them in the US. Had these flavors been on the market prior to 2007, we could just submit the 905-J and sell them until the FDA reviews the application and makes a determination.

The crazy thing about the FDA now, is that the law is sooooo ambiguous (possibly by design) that our herd of attorneys sometimes is at a loss, because it just doesn't make sense, legally speaking. And attorneys, will ALWAYS ere on the conservative side, to reduce corporate liability. Our attorneys are working some back channels and hope that some of these applications are going to be approved pretty soon, keep your fingers crossed :-)

ain't there a maximum amount of time the FDA can sit on an application before they have to rule on it? I have read the law but it's been a while. it seems like when i read it I thought yea they will make everyone wait the max time. maybe i will go back and read. not trying to say i know more than the attorneys or anything. law is sort of a hobby of mine haha
