Snus central price increases in 9 hours. (RE: snuscentral store rocked by death!)

Just a heads up fellow snusers. Givin ya the skinny since I notice there is no discussion of this topic on this board as of yet. The gist of it is that Moe Unz over at snuscentral was recently discovered by the board of directors to have been selling snus with bad business practices (notably, selling it too cheaply and offering too many discounts). The full story is available here. (props to larry waters btw for crafting an amazingly well written article)

Bottom line is that prices will be going up, probably somewhat significantly, in approximately 9 hours (ie: the beginning of the month of october, swedish time) , and that the discounts for shipping on large orders will be going away, never to return.


So stock up while you can I guess? Personally just ordered 3-4 months additional supply, which kind of sucked having to predict what my tastes are going to be like over the coming months. Figured ettan los and jaks classic wouldnt let me down though.

This thread could also serve as a general discussion of the recent tragedy that occurred at snuscentral.

I just checked my calendar and it is not April 1 but Larry's Breaking News had me wondering if snus might be responsible for massive memory loss/lost days!!

btw, does Grandma Unz have any other name other than grandma?

ouch. prices went up an avg of $4-10 / roll. , id estimate around 20%. this HURTS !!! Mr Unz why did you have to spoil us for so long with rolls <$30 . Hurts, but , what can ya do.

Ouch is right. Just about time for me to restock, will def be doing some mock orders at a variety of places. SC got most of my business in the past because the price usually came out lowest. Now that that's not a sure thing my business is not a sure thing. They have a right to raise prices, I have a right to shop elsewhere.

I put in a large order a few days before I heard of the price hike. My first large post-PACT order as I finally worked through my stash. As of today it is still pending, nearly a weak after I ordered. Not quite sure what that means.

Stubby, is your order pending on the snuscentral website, or pending at UPS? I ask because I placed an order a few days before the price hike as well, and mine is currently being held up in customs by UPS pending an FDA review. Just wondering if you're having the same issue I am.

I sent off an email to them and it's all good. There was a little mix up as I had ordered the icetool aluminum portions can but it wound up being out of stock. I missed the email they sent me (though I don't known how that happened, but I'll let it go). I had to give the okay to ship without the snus can. It now shows shipped.

I do hope it doesn't get hung up in customs. I'm down to 4 cans of loose. I do have an unopened snusX V2 thing with about 2 rolls worth of the make your own snus I ordered pre-PACT as a bit of insurance. I may have to dig into that if things go bad.

A strange thing I ran into today is that Northerner no longer has Wisconsin listed. There hasn't been any new laws that I know of that would stop them from shipping here. I sent them an email (not the easiest thing to do). They acknowledged they got the email but so far no explanation as to what's going on.
