Northerner Delays

Hey Guys,

I just ordered Snus for the first time on Wednesday from the Swedish warehouse. It is being shipped to Canada. Does any of this thread effect me as well? I get the impression that it only effects those in the US as well as those in the EU. I don't know a whole lot about PACT in this case.

I sure as hell hope it's not delayed because I just quit smoking a week ago and I only have three cans of Camel Snus that I bought on a recent trip to the US. Its a little too sweet for me but its getting me through cigarette cravings with incredible ease. It actually pisses me off that its been so easy to quit because if I had access to Snus in Canada, I likely would have quit years ago.

I've never had Swedish Snus but from what I've gathered from lurking here the past week... is that I should find a few that I like out of the 20 different cans that I ordered. Feel like a child waiting for Christmas day / Delivery day.

Since it is coming from the Swedish warehouse you should not be affected by this and you should get it within the stated time frame. The PACT act does not apply for you since you do not live in the USA; However I wish you luck with Canadian customs...apparently they charge out the ass on tobacco. From what I understand it is hit or miss with them, some get packages by without problem while others get slapped with charges costing more than the order itself. Generally the smaller the order, the better chance you have of it sailing by without any problem.

Thats what I was hoping and thanks for the heads up on Canadian customs. I've been reading about it over the past week and I think if a couple shipments pass through undetected then I should be averaging in and around $9 and $14 a can. Its high but over the year it should still save me $1000 over smokes if I buy Los.

At this point I am so excited that I quit smoking with such ease and found a safer alternative... I would probably pay $20 a can.

Hi crazedcanuck. I wouldn't worry about your order. The overwhelming majority of my shipments from Northerner were received without any problems and I am a bit surprised by my last order. Because tobacco is so heavily regulated and lawmakers impose crazy rules on a whim, you almost have to expect things to get screwy from time to time. Northerner is working with me and I have no doubt my order will be filled. I just don't like waiting for good los tobacco. One suggestion I do have is to stock up when you do find something you like just in case. BTW, I wouldn't want to pay $20 for a can of snus but I do like the spirit of your last post. Congratulations on quitting.

I'm just curious, do you have the ability to order Lucky Strike, Marlboro, Camel, Granit, LD ?
Americans can't, EU snusers can get all but Marlboro.

I wish they would simply be more open about the problems they have been having. As it is, I can only see myself ordering from them if they have something I want that I cannot get elsewhere. I completely respect and admire what they are doing bringing a snus warehouse to the USA, I just don't like the way they are going about their business. It just seems too dicey throwing an order in and wondering both what you are going to get and when you will get it. Waiting 1 month+ for an order seems ridiculous, especially when the products' shelf life is considered.

And yes, the Gellivare thing is unfortunate...wonder when they will have it back in stock. Anyways Thank you for keeping us updated Mykislt... please let us know how it works out. I might be ordering from them soon for some Oden's and I'd like to know if and when they get their affairs in order.

I went to the Gellivare website and it looks like they sell their snus from there. I sent them an email asking them if they ship to the United States or if they will be sending any over here soon. I will keep you posted. They have some kit on their website and it looks like you can make 40 cans of Gellivare from it. I have to research it further but I would just LOVE 40 cans of Gellivare!!! I can just get up in the morning and grab a big chunk of Gellivare out of my bucket!

thats 4.4 lb of los snus. several years ago they had two to get rid of. I think they were nearing the end of best buy date. anyway they gave me a gellivares and LX a landstroms. its a lot of snus. pop it in the freezer and it will last forever tho.

It looks to me as if I can order them. There doesn't seem to be any bans in Canada for these. I've never ordered them but from the Swedish warehouse it only mentions that it cannot send to the U.S. I get the impression that I should probably try some of these out since everyone seems to like a Lucky Strike.

Hey, just wanted to say that I ordered May 6th and it's been filled and is en route according to UPS, so things seem to be moving now. Started to flip a little reading this thread after I had ordered and it stayed pending for a few days. I feel for all who got left in the cold.

Welcome to the forums! Good to see so many new members popping up.
Thanks for the update as well. Good to see them turning this around. Even if you still received a slight delay, it is much better than what others have been getting, with 1 month + waiting periods. Hopefully they can turn this around completely and get things back to normal.

I substituted the Gellivare for Pioneer because Gellivare is out of stock. I really hope Pioneer tastes somewhat close to Gellivare and I like it. They are supposed to ship tomorrow. By the looks of it, things are back on track but I do hope they get Gellivare in soon because I am going through Gellivare withdrawals. Congratulations to Northerner for surviving both PACT and the EU ban. Let us hope that the Maryland mail ban gets overturned and the government does throw any more crap at us for a while!
