Snus at the Big Box store?

    Hey ya'll,
Do any of the "Big Box" type stores like Cosco or Sams carry Snus like General? If so, is it cost effecctive to pay for a member ship to save over the years time?

Not yet as far as I have seen at Sam's. I'm actually letting my membership lapse now that the kids are out of diapers. If they sold Swedish snus I would sign back up.

Sam's club is walmart bulk so you would also see that at Wally world...

I used to shop at Sam's and they had a large section of tobacco products, but I am now a Costco member and I do not recall seeing any tobacco, there. Maybe I'm just not looking.

yep, the massive bulk stores like sam's club and costco charge a membership fee to shop there. They claim to give members cheaper prices if they buy bulk. For example, 50 rolls of toilet paper at one time instead of going to a regular store and buying a 6 pack on sale or a 2lb bag of potato chips instead of the 8 oz. bag is supposed to be cheaper.

Costco has there stuff in like a cage that you ask to go in they buzz you in you get whatever and then go out, I've never tried it, they only sell in bulk, rolls of dip, cartons of cigs and chew etc. but if I had a membership I would buy dip there it's really cheap like a dollar cheaper per can. They would never in a million years advertise it though. I've never seen any ads for tobacco in costco.

Sams used to have have to have Triumph snus in selected markets.

Surely Swedish Match can do the same with General. Swedish Match already has some products being sold by Sam's club.

Triumph Mint was the best tasting mint snus ever! God I miss it. I had my last portion of it after Thanskgiving dinner last year.

Triumph were made by Swedish Match for Triumph (or whoever makes the triumph brand), and they were white portions that were arranged in a star shape in the can. Unfortunately it was confined to a small number of markers, Atlanta (my market), and I forget the other.

The mint was unique. It's been ages since I last had it, but I remember really enjoying it. The regular was also very unique. It had a peach-like flavor, almost like a peach pouch chewing tobacco. It was amazing. I have never had a snus (american or swedish) that came close to matching either Triumph flavor since it was discontinued.

The only issue was that there was a bit of a controversy towards the end of Triumph's run, where rumor had it that a Swedish Match insider had mentioned that the snus that had originally been a normal SM nic content portion (8mg) had been lowered to 4mg at the request of the company that was marketing Triumph snus in the US. Some have said that was not true, others stick by it though, I honestly don't know what to believe. I just know that I was able to keep off cigs for a little while with the Triumph (when it had first entered the market), started smoking again, and tried Triumph again toward the end of its run, and it didn't kill my nicotine cravings like it had the previous time I tried it.

Fortunately for me, though, I decided that I liked the Swedish Match product so much that I decided to research it some more, discovered these forums, started ordering Swedish snus from getsnus, and have been off cigarettes for over a year (although I do enjoy a few smokes ever few months when I go to a concert and drink with friends. The best part though is that once I'm driving home, I just pop in a portion and I have no wish for any more cigs).
