Why are Northerners prices going up on a weekly basis

Always check on a weekly basis to see if anything new and interesting has been released and have noticed the prices seem to go up about 4 to 7 cents every 7 to 8 days. Last order was mainly the general line cost per can 3.74 a roll 35 and some change now its at 4.22 and around 39 a roll. Also noticed that olde viking was 5.03 a can hell that stuff was bad at the 2 dollar mark never could see paying that for it.

I believe that there are a few reasons for this. The primary one would be our dollar getter weaker on the foreign exchange. The other one would be the costs of putting all the little stickers and warning labels they have to put on your can of snus. Another reason could be that there are far fewer stores selling snus now after PACT and competition is minimal.

And as prices go up and taxes go up, usage goes down, causing the cycle to start again. Eventually no one will be able to afford to sell it or buy it and states will be out billions in tax revenue (so they will raise other taxes to compensate) <sigh>

What is still weird/strange for me is that I have recently made an order from the U.S and there seem to be nearly no extra taxes apart from the SNUS costs.

Whereas for product shipped from Europe the taxes are simply huge.

Thought I'd comment on this. It's all about the USD exchange rate. It's been dropping like a stone the last few weeks. This sucks for our customers and it sucks for us (especially our US distribution is affected by it). On the flip side though, it evens out over time.

It's been a while since I ordered more snus, but I, too, was surprised by their prices. Their shipping cost went up too.

I ended up going with snuscentral this time because, even with shipping being twice as high, it ended up lowering my overall cost. I always compare the final price on a "per can" basis, so I ended up paying $3.33/can at snuscentral, whereas I would've paid $3.75/can at northerner.

It would be nice if we could get our currency under control. I really hope it's not a constant trend to see snus prices increasing!

Well hopefully at some point there will be enough demand and Swedish Match can start producing snus @Owensboro, Kentucky so prices will be stabilized for US customers.

I actually like when prices go up and down with the current values. Somedays seem cheaper then others.
During the past decade the dollar really bottomed out against the Euro and they called that economic success. Your money did not stretch very far in Europe but it was good for exporting goods. Now that the dollar is climbing they will say it is bad for business but good for travelers.

I personally like a strong dollar because $9 dollar bottle of waters/beers in Europe piss me off! There was a time when you actually felt like you were living in the richest country in the world but now you just feel poor.
