Just curious. I'm about to put in my second order for some of the other brands I'd like to try, but when it comes around to my next order after that, I want to make the bulk of it my favorites of the previous two. Only thing is, I already have about six cans open as it is, and I don't want any of it to go bad before I can finish them...
How many cans do you have open at one time?

I currently have about a dozen cans open: some Wintergreen and Coffee/Vanilla I'm not too fond of, four cans of loose and six cans of portions. The rest is in the freezer. I'd like to get down to only five or six cans open, but I'm still ordering new brands and my curiosity/impatience gets the best of me..ops:

LOL, I was bad when I first started using, but I am much better now.
I use two cans at a time. Normally a straight tobacco snus, and a flavored snus. I like to alternate between the two. I will let myself get up to 4 cans open, but then make a point to try and finish of the 2 that are almost gone. I do find that it dries out if left open too long, so I try not to go there.

I usually end up with more open cans of portion snus becuase I use it in public. I end up with a tin in my coat pocket, one in my book bag, one in/at my desk - so I'm always prepared (flavors aren't so relevant). I hate getting out to where I'm going and realizing that I've left my snus at home. I rarely have more than one can of loose open at a time. When I do, that extra can has tended to be Gottland Grey.

I don't think it really matters how many you have open at one time. As long as you're storing them in the fridge or say, maybe your cold ass car in a Michigan winter, they're the same as having never been opened. Save for a few newer brands, these cans have very little sealing properties.
Just throw it in the fridge if you're done with it for the night.
I don't hesitate to open a new can of something if I'm in the mood for say a nice subtle Ettan when just this afternoon I wanted a Gus yellow. I just keep them in my little beer fridge and my wife has no problem with it.
The reason they came out with the white pouch was to eliminate much of the problem incurred with leaving them out. I keep a roll of catch cassis and diplomat white in my desk at work.
Don't think you're keeping them any fresher by waiting to pop the little perforated paper of the label.

First thing in the morning-Landströms, Gellivare, or Grov portions
Next up-something lasting, usually a Gotlandssnus product
Next is something highly flavored, maybe Catch, Metropol, or LD Black to get me to lunch.
After lunch I prefer a more natural taste, perhaps with some bergamot. LD or Gotland Yellow is good.
Now it's time for some more Landströms until I get home from work.
Probe is pretty good right after dinner, and by the time that's finished, I'm ready for some Kardus.
I may have 1 more portion consisting of Onyx, then right before bed I like something with bergamot again. Maybe Gustavus to change things up a little, and it starts all over the next day.
I have about 12 different snus' I like well enough to buy rolls of, so I'm spoiled for choice. I usually take at least 5 different snus' to work with me, and of course I have a fridge full at home.

I just got into loose in the last month or so, and I had about 8 tins open in my fridge at one time. I'm not 100% positive about this, but I've noticed that the snus tends to dry out a bit once it's open, and this seems to be making the pris' more crumbly in my lip. It also seems to me that the flavors have been getting less intense the longer the snus sits open in the fridge. I'm going to take special note when I open my next tin of loose and see if I can notice a difference. So, I've decided to go through what I have open 2 tins at a time id est take 2 to work, and just use those 2 at home until they're gone. Now I only have a 1/4 tin of Gustavus (which I really like) and an almost full tin of Röda Lacket (which I'm not really that fond of).
