Sage, I know I gave it a jolly good try :P . I am hoping to try the Thunder up front to the side, and maybe that will do it. If not, I will wait until my days off...then force myself through it to see if I can get used to it. My stomach might not be able to handle it...I hope not. I take a prescription medication for arthritis, and I know that isn't too good for the tummy either. I pray that the lump and burning goes away, like the burning does on the gum from repeated portion placement. I know that the regulars I have used so far didn't bother me upfront...except to look funny. The tradeoff with that is less flavor. I touch the portion with my tongue, and I can taste the salt...but very little else, unless it is sweet like Discreet.

I know I have to work something out to get my nic...I'm not willing to give up yet. I'm a fighter, not a quitter! :twisted:

SheilaLynn and Karanya: Do either of you but snus in bulk, or just get a few cans at a time to just "try them"?

If you mean what I have stocked up, I have a couple of gallon bags filled with cans in the freezer. Compared to what most have though, they'd think my stash of cans was puny in comparison

If you mean when it comes to buying, I don't buy many whole rolls. Since I have a few cans of what I like, I spend more on things like the sampler packs at getsnus.com. I have my favorites (Discreet), but still like to have a few others around since the mood changes on what I want in addition to those Discreet packs. And they're a good way to try ones at a good price. I'm mainly into the flavored ones, but I do have things like General, Ettan, and Scruf around. And of course I keep some strong portions around also.

As I said in the post above, I might have to force myself to use reular portion sterks to get my nic. I am hoping that with increased use, I will get used to it.

And yes...I was also considering getting sample packs, Discreet packets (love those too), and a few cans here and there to store....along with snuff (done the same way).

what i noticed when i used portions...if you fold them in half long ways and push em up there and leave em alone they wont juice up as quick or nearly as much

Thanks Texasmade...do you put them in fold up or fold down? Do you do this for all portions (regular, white, large, etc.)? If that will help me, that would widen my horizons a little bit...and have more choices in sterks and flavors.

This might help too when I make my own portions.

i put them in fold down but after awhile i flip it(but thats just me)
ive done with all the portions ive used whites and originals(never bother with the minis until discreet came along..just so i could fit more up there )

Well, now, the new 02 snus is strong, with a thinner (and longer) bag, and reputed not to drip--people are reporting that they *can* drip, but not for a long time and not as much (I've tried a few, that sounds about right).

Someone may have already suggested that, but it's a thought. The question will be how you like the taste. Since it's thinner, it might be good for work. You could maybe even still fold it.

Speaking of folding, I would suggest trying it with the crease up, in an inverted 'V' shape. This should eventually relax into an upside-down 'U' shape, giving you more contact (and thus more nicotine) than if you put it in the other way.

Thanks MojoQuestor...I'll try it that way. Sage recommened O2 to me, as well as LD White and Thunder Frosted. But, if this folding method works for me...I might be able to use other brands of sterk as well...until I can cut down to regular.

you can still use regulars...imo it would make the transition easier if you use a regular after every/every other stark or extra stark

I like a little variety. Regulars are the moist portions, aren't they? Like Oden's Kanel, Nick and Johnny, Roda Lackett, etc.?

yep just like that then after awhile you can switch it and do two regulars then a stark just for a day to see how you do

Hi Karanya...that's what I might have to do. I am vaping right now with a VK with a 36 mg. cartomizer, and since that isn't cutting it, I have been alternating puffs with my 510 Prodigy with 24mg. liquid. Plus, I just finished an 8mg. General White portion!

Something is wrong...either I have a super high nic tolerance, or my body isn't absorbing nearly enough nicotine from vaping to cut it. I am going to take Sages advice and order some Thunder Frost to try, if that helps...I will try to stay on strongs for a while.

As far as vaping, I have 3 bottles of unflavored juice put up...plus 12-510 atties, and my Prodigy and a 510 nicostick, PLUS a new VK!
I have spent WAAAAAY too much money on vaping. Just for the cost of 1 bottle of juice, I could have bought 5 cans of snus or snuff!

Deeanne....I thought you were "stocking up" on e-cig supplies..LOL..I have over 1500ml of 36mg e-liquid,50/801 atomizers,20/910 atomizers,25/510atomizers and batteries and my beloved Prodigy with all three adaptors.This does not include my 3.7v. home made box mods. I agree with you that I could have spent 1/4 of what I have spent on e-cig supplies and had the motherload of snus and snuff!! The Wiz!

I was hoping to use the little bit of juice that I have to cut down to 0 nic in vaping, but my body will not let me get below a certain level before it protests...LOUDLY. That is why I am trying to get into snus and snuff, to fill that need, and to have a better chance of stocking up...because these methods are not as expensive as vaping.

Deanne....It is possible to get a good throat hit with 0 nic....I have used a 50/50 mix of VG/PG with menthol crystals that hits like a ton of bricks. As I(like you)are new to the world of snus,I would have to recommend the Thunder wintergreen extra strong for a heavy nic hit...I could vape 0 nic all day with these! I hope a year from now we are laughing about our new adventures of trial and error together!! The Wiz!
