MojoQuestor: I also have a General Original portion here as well, just haven't tried it yet. Taking it slow to get my feet wet and test the waters before I jump head first,,,trying to find favs right now, and snus that control my cravings.

The Wiz: I ordered a brown hankie with my snuff, that way if I am constantly blowing snuff, I won't see it  .

Trust me. Sometimes you just sneeze. Sometimes, I just need to blow and out it comes. But mostly, I just make sure I am clean each morning in the shower

If I can get totally transitioned to snus and snuff, I can always sell the stuff and 1) recoup some of my losses, and 2) have some extra money for snus and snuff!

I should be getting my first snuff order tomorrow or Tuesday...probably won't try it until I am off Friday. I have mixed feelings....I am excited to try it, and I am afraid of trying it- all at the same time (sounds stupid, huh?). But...I have also been making my "wish list" for the next order- just in case the snuff gets me hooked  .
36 and 24? Yikes...never used higher than 18 here and normally I use 12mg stuff! I was a little afraid of the snuff at first too after all the things I read about sneezing and nic hits and all. But I followed what everyone seemed to say, which was start off small on the back of your hand (as Sage says, about the size of an apple seed, at least I think it was him who said that), and sniff GENTLY. Probably won't feel much nicotine, but it'll give you the feel on how to use the stuff.

Hey SheilaLynn!!!!! I told Sage earlier that I was trying to follow your example, but that you were taking to everything faster that I am. You seemed to have hit it off right off the bat with snus and snuff. i am getting better with the snus, I just need to find my strength and fav flavors...next hill to climb is the snuff.

I have the nic bug bad...I am trying it TBs way...of trying to incorporate as many ways to get nic into my routine as I can to get rid of cravings. So far, I have used 4mg., 6mg., and 8mg. snus with no effect. Now gonna try upping the ante a little bit to try to tame that tiger  .

I was literally breathing through my PV, using 4 or 5 ml of 48mg e-liquid each day. Atomizers and batteries.. LOL.. one battery would last about a week, an atomizer about 3 or 4 days!

I had to keep 3 901s going at all times to prevent overheating the atty and burning myself.

Needless to say, vaping was a wee bit more expensive than I expected. But I was a chain-smoker before then.

I'm still vaping .. some .. but nothing like before. Now I take a few drags an hour of 36mg and I'm good. More like a "thoughtful pause" than a non-stop fixation. I'm pretty happy with this but might not bother to buy more supplies when what I have finally dies.

Hi Karanya...that's what I might have to do. I am vaping right now with a VK with a 36 mg. cartomizer, and since that isn't cutting it, I have been alternating puffs with my 510 Prodigy with 24mg. liquid. Plus, I just finished an 8mg. General White portion!

Something is wrong...either I have a super high nic tolerance, or my body isn't absorbing nearly enough nicotine from vaping to cut it. I am going to take Sages advice and order some Thunder Frost to try, if that helps...I will try to stay on strongs for a while.

As far as vaping, I have 3 bottles of unflavored juice put up...plus 12-510 atties, and my Prodigy and a 510 nicostick, PLUS a new VK!
I have spent WAAAAAY too much money on vaping. Just for the cost of 1 bottle of juice, I could have bought 5 cans of snus or snuff!

Definitely give the sterks and extra sterks a try. My nicotine tolerance is ridiculously high and it sounds like yours may be too. I don't think they make an e-liquid as strong as an actual cigarette (on a drag-by-drag basis) -- probably why so many people on ECF smoked a pack a day but now chain vape 24mg...

I'm chain-snusing now, but it is a whole lot cheaper than cigarettes were and somewhat cheaper than vaping. This is true even though I was a "budget" vaper.. no mods or anything, just bulk packages of SLB 901 atties and batteries. I bought e-liquid in bulk as well and flavored my own to cut costs further.

Snus should definitely be under $100 a month for me and I'm a fiend and swap portions out frequently.

I do find that the strength I need declines during the day as the nicotine "builds up" through the day. So I start out with extra sterks and by evening I'm down to regular portions or even minis.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your nicotine absorption, though. I think vaping just doesn't deliver anywhere near as much Vitamin N as tobacco products do... plus there's the "missing element" to consider.. the naturally occurring MAOIs in tobacco that affect how your body uses nicotine. These are absent in e-liquid and in pharmaceutical nicotine products like the patch, gum, etc (none of which ever worked for me either!).

Try the Thunder or Odens if you have to...sometimes it takes those stark ones to push the cravings back.

I've talked to Tom about this, and he had some info on the amount that's actually absorbed from the e-cigs...it's way lower than we thought it was, something like 1/100 of what the mg of nicotine in the liquid is. So that could have alot to do with vaping like a chimney...you have to to get the amount of nicotine that you're used to from the cigs. I found that once I started using the snus, my use of the e-cig did go way down.

Can't knock the e-cig though since it did get me off of the analogs right off even though I was only using 12mg liquid in it. Now I'm finding the snus and snuff much more useful, and the e-cig is there for when I need that hand to mouth stuff more than the nicotine itself. Sometimes I'll be sucking on the thing even though the battery is dead...guess it's like a pacifier in a way :P

I've been told a couple of times in here to just ditch the e-cig since it's not helping to break that hand to mouth habit that we have in our brains for the past 30+ years and I know they're right. That's why I'm hoping I don't feel like I have to get more once mine all die. The snus is just so much more convenient...although sticking an e-cig in your pocket and not having to find a lighter each time is pretty cool too 8)

Karanya, do you work outside the home, or are you work at home type person? I think one of my fears is using snus at work. The only other nic people where I work is smokers, or dippers...and I am afraid the smokers will consider me a dipper...and very "unladylike". I smoked with them, and they "tolerate" my vaping (even though they want me to quit)...but I don't know about seeing me put a snus in my upper lip, or seeing my lip pooched out like someone hit me!

The Discreet is great for that, but not much nic. I guess I could vape at work, and snus and snuff at home, but eventually the vaping will come to an end- then I will be in a type of social "pickle". Plus, in December...we are supposed to go through a "wellness" exam for work. They ask you if you use tobacco...with vaping I could say no (saving me a whole $5.00 a month)...but with snus and snuff, I would have to say yes. Oh well, that's life I guess.

SheilaLynn... I am going for the Thunder Frost first. I told Sagedil that I am trying to stay with flavored snus for right now. The General White I had today wasn't bad...but I have heard some of the others are awfull!!!

I work from home but I do snus in public. I don't put in a portion in front of anyone, or if I do, I just pop it into my mouth and move it into position with my tongue... looks like I'm just getting an Altoid or something.

TBH, I've never been worried about appearing ladylike but I'm a little weird anyway

However, I did find that full-size portions weren't noticeable once I got the hang of it. With a little practice, you may find you have a few places you can put them where there's no "lip bulge" and you can smile and talk freely. I've actually found four "sweet spots" in my upper lip for this.

Oh, and a fun tip: I have a deep line (wrinkles? no way! I'm only 30! LOL) on either side of my face running from the outer edges of my nose to the outside edges of my lips. A mini portion on each side actually makes those lines disappear and leaves me with the face of a 20 year old! (Ok, maybe 25 :P)

Actually, to me, General is as close to bad as anything gets. Just me, not a huge fan.

I promise deeanne59, as you get used to the portions in your mouth. eventually, you will realize that no one knows. It becomes super easy to put one in with no one noticing, or looking like you are just having a mint.

One trick, to make it super duper discreet, is push back the portion further in your mouth. I am a bit strange, but I keep mine next to my back molar. But you can't tell AT ALL that I have something in my mouth

Sage...that's what I am afraid of doing. I did that with the Camel snus, and all hell broke loose. I try to use the front sides of my upper lip to keep the saliva flow down a little bit..because my stomach isn't used to that gush of flavor and burn of nic. Since I lost my lunch on the Camel...I have been afraid to try that position again...especially with a regular or large portion.

The salt doesn't bother my stomach, because I am a salt freak anyway (that's why the taste doesn't bother me)...its when that sweet, burning liquid hits my stomach...and makes that knot in my throat, that bothers me. I don't know if I can ride it out until I get used to it. Placing it in the front helps control the flow, and it doesn't hit my stomach all at once.

SheilaLynn and Karanya: Do either of you but snus in bulk, or just get a few cans at a time to just "try them"?

White snus will cut the flow dramatically, whole reason why whites are almost all I use. Unfortunately for you, not a lot of white sterks.

Skuff Stark White is the best IMHO.

But yeah, reason why that back trick doesn't work for everyone
