    Loose Sampler

Just checked order status at Getsnus and my Loose sampler pack should be waiting on the doorstep when I get home. Will be my first experience with the loose stuff - so my question is, which one should I crack open first?

I'm mostly looking for the one that will pack the best for my beginner attempt at a pris (and of course taste). Would like to try and make my first impression a good one.

    Sampler Includes:
    1 - Grovsnus Loose
1 - Gotlands Classic Yellow Loose
    1 - General Loose
    1 - Offroad Original Loose
    1 - Skruf Stark Loose
    1 - Prismaster Portion Tool

I've only had one los, and it was General. I handbaked it with ease. I use the prismaster for measurement and handbake from there. Good luck my friend, los is a wonderful journey.

Go with Gotland Yellow. It has the boldest taste of any of them. Although it isn't the easiest to bake, the Prismaster should make it simple for you.

Gotland it is then since I haven't tried their line yet.

        Thanks Ixkllr!

I recommend taking the plunger out of the Prismaster and reversing it. That'll make the pris size about 1/3 smaller, and is more comfortable to use imo. It's easy to do, and you can change it back if you don't like it that way. It should be obvious what I'm talking about when you look at it :^)

About an hour in and it's still going strong - love the taste!

Had a little bit of trouble making a smaller size using the prismaster (was just using my thumb to set the stopping point). Have already flipped the plunger and will try it on the next one.

Thanks again for the recommendation and tip!

The Prismaster really isn't the best as a portioning tool. It's harder to customize the size, and the action gets gummed up very quickly. It's hard to beat the price though, and is good for an introduction to lös snus.

Never had loose, how you liking it? Does it get stuck in your teeth? Does it fall apart? More juice? More flavor?

Lös can get in your teeth, but that depends on the individual, and the individual's technique.

It can fall apart, but you get better at controlling it with practice.

Juice? I don't know. I've never really been aware of juice in snus. I'd say it's comparable to a regular portion though.

The flavor tends to be mellower, but lasts longer than portions.

See that is what always turned me off about los! I started my snussing with a general los sampler from buysnus because I read how great los is! I am glad i got 2 tins of portions as well because regular general tastes nothing like general los and so on and so forth for other snus!

Yea, that can be good or bad. Lös is generally different from the portion counterpart, and sometimes it's drastically different. It gave me a whole new compnay to buy from, as I had sworn off V2 not liking any portion they made. I haven't had a lös from them yet that I've hated, and some are top favorites of mine.

simon, last night was my first experience with los and I really enjoyed it. The prismaster made portioning a snap and I only noticed one or two flakes on my teeth after popping it in - easily taken care of with a swipe of my finger.

As far as juice goes, it was nearly non-existent. I've had more drip from some of the portions I've tried. I had my first pris in for over an hour and a half and it stayed neatly in place without falling apart (even while drinking a couple beers!). When I finally removed it, it came out in one big clump but I still rinsed with water to take care of any stray bits.

The thing that seemed to impress me the most was how comfortable it felt. The majority of my snus use to this point has been whites with a few regulars thrown in and I have noticed a little gum irritation at times. Definitely not the case with los.

I guess my only heads up would be that during use I would sometimes get a tiny loose piece on my tongue. Wasn't a big deal and I just swallowed them down. Anyways, hopefully my experience will help sway you to give it a shot!

BTW, this was with Gotlands Yellow at Ixskllr's excellent recommendation. I don't yet know how much different it would have been with another brand but I'm no longer gun-shy about trying whatever.

I love the los. It tastes about the same, maybe less salty.

Meh, I find that the los doesnt have as much flavor as the portions!

Chewing is definitely not a new way of enjoying tobacco - it is a rather old tradition - but the new, modern Nordic Chew is more like snus than traditional chewing tobacco. It looks the same way as Swedish snus and comes in loose form or in portions. ...

                                What is Swedish Snus?
                                by SnusOn.Com
Well, Swedish snus originates from the 18th century and consists of four main ingredients: tobacco, water, salt and humectant substance. Snus is a smokeless tobacco product. Different flavors are added to these four ingredients which provide each and every brand with its special character!

The Swedish snus (smokeless tobacco) is unique thanks to the special methods used when manufacturing the high quality tobacco. ...
