Why don't an American snus maker try and replicate the Swedish taste, instead on only always making heavily sweet flavored types? It seems to me, from people really into snus, they prefer the real Swedish type, and being so, I think if a US company tried to, and hopefully did, replicate the non-sweet Swedish style snus, I think it would possible be well accepted, if it was good.

I have some Swedish snus myself, but keep reaching for those little packets of Discreet when I have them. I don't think they're heavily sweet at all and I do love that Strawberry! It seems like the only brand that has a decent flavored strawberry one.

Hmmmm, dip a strawberry snus in chocolate...ok, maybe I have too much nicotine in me, hehe.

Opps. Forgot all about this thread.

Now that's it's back for all to see....
I did get to try the Discreet Snus that I was sent.
The peach and strawberry are outstanding with some unsweetened ice-tea.
Makes a perfect drink and snus combination.

If you get a chance to try some of these don't hesitate.

Hmmm, haven't tried with iced tea, but now you're giving me ideas! I think the strawberry is the bomb anyways no matter what I'm drinking  Maybe on the next trip to Starbucks I'll pop in a Cool Mint and order an iced caffe mocha...that sounds good to me!

Now why didn't I think of this last night when I got an iced grande decaf nonfat peppermint mocha twist no whipped at Starbucks...d'oh!

There's this restaurant my wife and I go to and they have this fruit ice-tea. It's iced-tea with with I guess about half the glass filled with really small pieces of fruit. I can go through a gallon of it.
That's what the snus and iced-tea combo reminds me of.

I sent my info to the Discreet people, and Tom(I guess he's the owner) sent me an email saying he would send me some samples.

Evidently they are very interested in customer feedback, which is way more than I can say about Big Tobacco. They give me the impression that they will actually take any suggestions and input and actually put them to use. It's kinda got me interested.

Anyway, it CAN'T be any worse than Camel Mellow, and it's free. I'm always down for giving the little guy a shot. I'd much rather hum get the business than RJR or PM!!

Tom is an awesome guy, and I too would much rather see his product on the shelves than the other junk that they call snus (as in the "famous" brand which is a bag of dried tobacco and flavor strip...what a joke). Plus, the stuff is good!

I've never tried the Camel Mellow so I have no clue what it tastes like, but I've never seen a good review of it anyplace. Just make sure to share the Discreet with mamafish

I sent an info request on the Discreet Snus website and I got an e-mail from Tom saying he'd send me some soon. It sounds interesting so I can't wait.

I did the same. I will give them a fair and honest and try, and I will tell them what I think. I do think though, they would do better and sell better, based on that snus online experience, if they copied the "Swedish Style" of snus, and did away with the sweetner. Now I haven't tried them yet, but I get the impression that they are sweet, but better than Camel. I think if an American company properly copied the "Swedish Style" in the taste and flavor dept, and even made a comparable loose, I think we'd all go for it and support it. But if it's another sweet Camel style snus, we might try it, but I doubt we'd buy it. So come on, American companies, you know what we want, why don't you at least try, it's only tobacco, water, and salt.

I got my snus in today. They were all fantastic but the Strawberry is definitely my favorite. All of the flavors are sweet but they weren't overwhelming to me. I like the flavor of the american Camel stuff but Discreet snus didn't taste as sweet as Camel to me. The flavors were also 100% better. I really hope Discreet and Pro snus hits the shelves.

                                And I like the packaging.
