The hand baking didn't go as well as I had hoped. I can bake a "seemingly" nice pris, then go for the lip placement, and BAM! It falls apart. Tried it several times and finally got one to hold, and hold it did. Lasted easily an hour.

So, I've been using los most of the time today and I dig it. Once I get the baking arts down, I'll probably do this pretty frequently. I will order an ice tool, it's not that the pris master isn't working, but rather the ice tool is cool as shit and I just want one..lol

I will probably still primarily use portions, but one thing I like about the los is that when it's been in for a bit, I can taste the snus juice seeping through my teeth at the gumline. With portions I have to mash them around a bit to get more flavor out of them, the los I can just move my lip a bit and voila....flavor.

      Question:

After you place the pris and it's been in for awhile, does it soften up and form to the shape of your lip/gums? Or do everyone else's stay in the original shape of the pris? Mine get mushy for lack of a better word and just spread out a bit, do I need to compress it more?

It forms to the shape of your mouth after a while. You'll get used to it, just keep doing it. Then you'll be able to poke at it and stuff with abandon.

To be completely honest the Prismaster almost made quit using Los.

It just didnt form a solid enough pris or a comfortable one either.

So i got good at hand baking and when i had the money i ordered an icetool.

Now i use los almost exclusively and only portions at work or when out drinking

I agree with Grim. The Prismaster's almost more trouble than it's worth. It doesn't work smoothly, and it gets gunked up after 1 use. There's a couple of snus' where I consider a tool almost essential. I'll begrudgingly use a Prismaster if my IceTool is unavailable, but there's really no comparison between them.

I can't wait until I'm financially secure enough to justify, especially to my fiance with whom I share finaces, buying an icetool. Maybe next month... for now I use a prismaster daily, and while it has it's obvious drawbacks, I don't know any better having never used an icetool and being shitty at hand-baking. I just cram it full, and shove it up there as high into my lip as it will go, and then actually pull my lip down over the prismaster before injecting it to make sure the pris is crammed way up there.

Rick, definitely do order some Skruf Los. The consistency is such that you can play with it a lot more, and even move it around. Roda is the same, along with many others. And yes, the pris loses shape after a while and just kind of conforms to the shape of your gums. My pris removal skills are such that I actually use an old toothbrush at home for quick clean up, but I don't mind. I love using los at home, and with Skruf or a snus of similar consistancy, sometimes elsewhere too. Keep at it![/u][/list]

Yeah I'm getting an ice tool. Ordered some more los tonight, Skruf Stark los, Gote Rape and Roda Lacket. All flavors that I love in portion, so this should be good.

On a side note, it's difficult for me to use the Ettan portions now, because I expect them to taste like the los, hope this doesn't happen with the new ones I've ordered.

Ive tried most of the snus out there, the ones I havent tried... i do not want to try.

Out of all of them, those which have a portion counterpart, I really REALLY do not think SM should even let Ettan portions carry the ETTAN name.

All i taste is chocolate pudding with the Ettan portions, which ive stated on several posts, and the Ettan Los for me is just good salty goodness with a lil smoke flavor.

It is the only snus ive had where the Los was so good but the portions I will never re-order, reg and white.

Maybe your tastes will differ but I truely hate Ettan portions for the inconsistancy of its flavor profile from portions to Los.

I love Ettan Portions (not white) and Lös, but I tend to think of them as different brands. There is a definite difference in the flavors.

I used Ettan portions pretty much exclusively today, with the occasional Gen ES to keep me from killing an employee. I enjoyed them again, and can taste the similarity to the los, BUT the los is better.

Right now, I've got a lil smokey of Ettan los workin in my lip, and I'm loving it! Pretty much got the hang of the los now, but guess what? I'm almost out of the stuff, only ordered one can on last order, but have ordered more...lol

Not sure if I give a shit to learn how to hand bake, I'm ordering an ice tool on the order after this one.

Tried my first lös yesterday, Roda Lacket, hand baked, followed by Offroad liquorice then Skruf stark. Baking a pris by hand was easy with the above 3, then I put the pris under my lip, yummy, it was love at first pris, like sex without the condom.

Of the 3 RL was my least fav cos it turned to mud too quick but the flavour is good, quite mild with 8mg/g nic. Offroad has great flavour, but the flavour is not so good after 1/2 hour so I spit it out. Skruf lös is as tasty as the the portions but without all the burn which makes my lip sore.

If you havent tried lös you're really missing out on the snus experience. You will be able to hand bake it's really easy to do especially with RL and Skruf.

Last I checked RL is actually 10mg/g.
