    Shipping on Northerner

I was curious. How many cans of snus can you have until the shipping cost goes up on Northerner? What is the additional cost?

Not really sure. But I just did a $66 order, about 29 tins and shipping was like $12. Buysnus is better that way, it shows you how many grams you have left before you get to the net shipping price, will even suggest snus if you aren't there yet when you go to check out.

Best play with it, try different combinations and you will see.

It has to do with the overall weight of the items. Last order, I got 3 boxes of chocolates first and then added about 10 cans, continued to checkout and there were two shipping options, regular and ups (ups was more expensive). At that moment didn't check out since I needed to add 3 more cans, went back added the 3 cans and went to checkout again and realized there was only one choice (the ups) for shipping since the 3 extra cans had exceeded a certain wight limit, the option for regular mail had disappeared. The UPS option was too expensive, so I removed the 3 cans, went back to checkout and regular mail option was there. It would be nice if northerner would put some information about the maximum weight which would kick into the ups only option.

Wow.. I ordered only 9 cans and shipping is $7.71.. Seems that First Priority Mail in Europe is much more expensive..

When I placed my last order I played around with the shipping a bit. On my order 51 cans of portion snus could go Swedish Post for around $20, 52 cans forced the order to UPS. Also, starting with about 20 cans in the cart, each roll I added cost roughly $3.75 to ship. I am sure it is by weight, not number of cans, but since I was only ordering snus it was easy to figure that way.

We exchange packages on occasion with friends in England and international mail is not cheap. I am sure Northerner is not making any extra money on the shipping costs. I don't know that a small order is particularly cost effective as the percentage increase goes down with larger orders, at least until you tip over the UPS only line.

I've been buying from getsnus since I started snusing, never had a problem from them. Fresh snus, delivered quickly...life was good. Now that I've placed an order with Northerner, it seems that they're taking forever to get my shipment here. I've contacted them and haven't heard back as of yet. Northerner has better pricing and I really like the bonus program they have in place, but the shipping issue may be a problem, especially if I start running low...lol

Along this vein, I'm thinking about making my next order from Northerner, they have some brands that I want to try that getsnus doesn't, so what is the shipping frame? I've still got a couple unopened cans, and enough in open cans that it won't be for a little while yet, but if I'm planning ahead, about how long does it usually take to cross the pond? (Going to upstate NY, if anyone has experience in that area)

Well, this being the first time I've ordered from them, I don't have a great frame of reference. I did however read that others here get their shipments pretty quickly, 5-9 days, depending on where you are. Guess they don't know where Kentucky is..lol

I just placed an onder with northrener today, sample pack and a couple tins, I'm very excited about the kanel flavor.

My order took 8 days, and all cans are fresh. I'll place my orders exclusively now with Northerner. They're cheaper and have that cool bonus program!

They do seem to be a tad slower than before. But only by a few days at most. And since I ordered with over 50 cans in the freezer, it was only my impatience at stake.

The shipping delay is not due to Northerner, but instead due to the shipping/postal services. My last order took 16 days, the longest it's ever taken from any supplier. However, they sent it out just as fast as usual. Usually it comes within 8 days.

With Buysnus (my main supplier), the longest I've waited is 10 days. Usually it comes in 4-8 days.

With Getsnus I think I waited 7 or 8 days once. Usually it comes in 5-8 days.

A lot of factors play into how long an order takes. All three of these companies send out our orders very quickly; the rest is out of their hands, as long as the snus does eventually arrive at its destination.
