Snus snatchers!

I recently did a trade with a SnusOn dude in Finland, and this is what I get in the mail...


(blotted out my name & address)

It's slit open on the right end, and completely empty.

Somebody snatched my snus! Has anyone ever seen one of those "received unsealed/without contents" stickers before? I'm assuming it was put on in the US, so by the time it got to the states, it was already open & empty.

I would assume that if some official decided to confiscate my snus, they would have put a little note in there or something saying they did so, right?

I dunno, I guess maybe the postman over there is a snusser, and decided to help himself.

BTW, I worked this out with my trading partner, it's not his fault somebody snatched my snus.

Still PO'd though I didn't get my snus.
Karma's a bitch, he'll get his eventually...

The usual practice is for the delivering post office to affix the
"received unsealed/without contents" stickers before delivering
the package ... it's an 'official' notification the item was received
in damaged condition.

The opening of the package could have occurred anywhere along
the route to its destination. The fact that most people in the States
would have no idea what portions are (as declared on the Customs
form), your assessment of the theft closer to its entry point is very
plausible. And, yes, if it were customs confiscating the contents,
you would have all kinds of markings on the package.

Theft by postal employees is not at all uncommon. The good news is that most of them get caught eventually. Small consolation for your lost snus, but as you noted, karma's a bitch.

It easily coulda been someone who wondered what 'portion can' was
and upon opening the package exclaimed, "What the **** is this?"

Well, it was a couple cans of JTI Camel, so unless they liked the sound of Camel tea, I doubt it. I know you're kidding, but my point is that it was obviously a tobacco product.

Must keep an eye on the news to see if someone thought they were maybe
those newfangled suppositories everyone is talking about. Trying to remember
what the dosage is but I can't find the appropriate thread.

Anyway, I don't think the bastard will get the full dose from your order.

Let us know if it happens again (not that we can do anything about it).
