... and I decided to pick some up the other day after recently revisiting Camel Frost.
The tin looks pretty cool, minus the Surgeon General's warning at the bottom.
Cosmetics aside, the portions are thicker than older Camel portions, and have a nice, soft white material enveloping each portion. I also immediately noticed the smell of *BERGAMOT!* I was shocked that it had such a nice, authentic smell unlike previous versions of Camel snus.
The flavor: Citrusy, peppery notes, strong tobacco taste, and some sweetness. There is obviously sweetener in this product, but it is more subdued than previous versions of Camel. Frost has an intense blast of artificial sweetener taste right off the bat - Robust's sweetness takes a moment to kick in, and augments the rest of the flavors, rather than overpowering them. The sweetness compares to General Mint, more or less.
This is a big WIN for RJ Reynolds - it seems like they're getting the hint about how snus *should* be. I find myself reaching for this stuff repeatedly, it's that good! If US manufacturers continue to develop snus down these lines, they may very well capture the hearts of snusers and tobacco users in general. Not to mention save me from paying exorbitant UPS shipping rates.
