Even if they are included that price is a little steep. Just Google "USB Mini Fridge" and you can find it online from $20.00 to $35.00 USD. It takes about 5 minutes to bring the fridge down to 8.5 degrees centigrade (47 degrees fahrenheit). I've thought about picking one up for work to plug in at my desk. It's marketed for one 12 ounce beverage to be chilled but I'd rather keep 5 tins of Snus in there.
yeah this product has been talked about before, and as one can guess from the design of it, it can only cool the bottom tin. even then, you're cooling plastic and not necessarily the snus itself that much.
it's more designed for individual soft drinks, since only one can will fit and the cans would be metal to conduct the cooling ability better.
it might still keep snus cool, but i doubt it's going to cool more than one can and be worth the money.
Wow. What'll they think of next? Pocket fridges? A refrigerated glove compartment?. How bout a really big metal one you keep in your kitchen that...wait a minute, never mind.
No offense, but the fact that someone sat down and designed this sort of blows my mind. $10,000 says it was an American who invented it.
Wait!!!! Why not just make each individual snus can refrigerated? Sure it would be bulkier, but what a conversation piece! 5, 10 minutes could be wasted talking about it!!!
I read in another post somewhere here that this thing was really only good for cooling the can that was on the bottom (in direct contact with the heatsink/fan) If that is the case, has anyone tried getting some thin steel or other metal and lining the back and sides to add an additional transfer point to cool multiple cans? Or was the previous post I read incorrect and this does keep several cans cool?.
I found one of these for about $20. Im weighing my options as to whether i'd rather buy a gadget, or 5 cans of snus.
Hold on a minute. Cheese spray is GREAT. You squirt out some, roll it around, bake it and plant it under your cheek. Can't do that with other cheese. Spray cheese in a can is right up there with Wonder white bread among great food inventions!

it's only contact-cooling. it's a peltier plate...one side is hot while the other side is cool. the heatsink cools off the hot side to prevent overheating. the only way to get it to cool multiple cans of snus is if the cans are all metal or find a perfectly-fitting metal tube with a closed flat end (an obvious pain in the ass, and I don't think all snus cans are the exact same diameter). Or if there's a second heat sink and fan on the cooling side of the plate (like in any thermoelectric fridge) to circulate the 'hot' air, transfer heat to the heatsink and provide cooling of the air inside. of course, the crappy door on the front and overall design of this cheap usb fridge don't allow for it. it's only really designed for aluminum can drinks. more worth it to just get a real thermoelectric fridge. i've seen some pretty neat looking green mt. dew fridges (with temp display) on ebay around 70 bucks. they're quite a bit larger, used primarily for drinks/snacks etc. however, thermoelectric fridges are very inefficient, they only get down to about 45 degrees, depending on ambient temperature too. you could just get a standard mini-fridge that's slightly larger than the TE fridges i've seen on ebay for not much more in price but much better cooling (and a small freezer).
I just bought one of the thermoeletric ones off of ebay a few weeks ago; I highly recommend one of these if you don't want to keep your snus in your kitchen fridge (or if you just want a stash in a second location).
This is the exact same one I purchased, and it works great; I have it sitting on my computer desk in my room.
You can fit 20 cans in it; 40 is possible if you cram them in there really good. It actually does keep them decently cool, although obviously not ice cold like a standard fridge...

Gurn- I drive a VW T'reg... My glovebox is refrigerated
