Goteborgs Apple...well, sort of.

Ok. I had a crazy idea and something pretty interesting came out of it.

I had bought a can of dip recently (Skoal Apple) and had about half of it. Dip doesn't really do it for me anymore so I thought I'd experiment. I took a can of Goteborgs Rape that had five portions left in it. Poked holes in the ashtray lid and put the portions in there. Then I emptied the half can of dip into the bottom part of the snus can. I popped it in the fridge to try the next day.

Well well well...we had some delightful snus today. The apple absorbed very well so you got that good solid aroma. The aroma was sweet as Skoal is but you didn't actually taste the sweetness. I wasn't thinking it was going to completely overpower the juniper but it did. Not in a bad way, it was just simply an apple portion at that point and the juniper, I'm sure, added something to it but would've been fine w/o it. It had way more apple flavor/aroma than Got Flader but I think the tobacco is better w/ Goteborgs and the portion material is superior, IMO.

Well worth the effort if you have the tobacco to experiment with.

This has got me thinking of what I'm going to do with my Snus X bucket that will shortly be en route.

As a fan of traditional tobacco flavored los, I was really surprised how much I love Gotlands Grey. I wish there were more, like it, but different flavors. Apple might work.

Have you tried Gotland Green err.. I mean Flander.

It's described a lot different by others, but what I get from it is a combo of fresh cut grass/leaves + green apple.

I get apples from it as well. There really is nothing out there snus wise that tastes like Gots. Green. I wish they made it in los, as I hate Gots. portion material, but love their tobacco.

There was a post on "Pics of Your Stash" recently that had a bag of snus. I think I remember reading that this was Flader Los. Why, pray-tell is that not available here. If it's anything like Got Anis
(only apple flavor) it would be amazing.

I get more of a 'licorice' flavor from Got's anus. I'll have to revisit it and see if there is some apple in there. Maybe it is the difference between the lös as opposed to portion? I only cracked a tin of lös thus far. Getting ready to jump into some portions soon.
