Busting open portions to Los

Possible? Tips? A thread I missed lol?

I tried a couple of non-white portions and couldn't form a prilla at all, y'all, way too dry and wouldn't stick.

Been tried. It's a no go.

Just not the same in a few different ways. Mostly just too dry, doesn't have all the humectants.

Plus if you do manage to do it, you'll get a donkey punch worth of nicotine.

Just buy loose snus. It's cheaper.

Some brands don't put the same grade tobacco in their portions that are in the loose versions.

Yup, that's what I hear. Too dry, and it doesn't stick :^D

I've never done it myself, but all the reports I've read have been mostly failures.

Ah darn, i've got some Los coming but only ordered one to try out initially and it's about done for. With no mail now until Tuesday, was hoping to feed that itch.

Why not just use the portions as portions until your lös comes in?

It's just not the same stuff in the portions as lös is.

Here's how to do it if you must

1. Take a portion cut it open

2. dump the contents onto a small plate or bowl

3. push the tobacco together into a pile

4. add a few drops of water to the pile

5. Cover with cellophane and wait

6. When your shipment of los arrives dump the pile of portion tobacco in the trash and bake yourself a pris with the los

Roda Lacket portions and Onyx mixed together were pretty good flavor-wise. You do have to add water, and like others have said it's not really the same. I can't understand why it's different, but it's different. Messier. All-in-all, not worth it though.

LOL snusdog! The difference between the tobacco in los and portions, especially white portions, is night and day. The los is so much more moist and delicious, no offense to those who like portions, but I made the switch and never looked back.

I wish Justin would post in this thread, because he knows and I know he knows and i cannot remember, but looking around I *think* the difference is that lös contains propylene glycol, to make the pris stick together. There's obviously no reason to add something like that to portion snus, which is why it won't stick together.

I could be wrong but I think 01 and 02 have propylene glycol in them if someone wanted to try it...but really you should just buy some lös.

I tried this 2 decades ago when Tre Ankare was only portion snus around, there was also Catch but that was for girls. Didn't work out well, snus was rather coarse and didn't bind together well. If look at the tins, loose has also E 422 moisturizer which is lacking from portions. I think E 422 has something to do with texture of snus, might be wrong about that though.
