I'm wondering if there are any fans of this one as many of the reviews are from a while back. I've not been using snus for quite some time and am looking for something I can use at work without a noticeable lip-bulge. Unfortunately Retro, which had a very easy to conceal pouch, has gone the way of the dodo, Cop Rock, and Steller's Sea Cow.

James!! How ya been man? I've never tried the 01, but it seems to have a solid following. I don't think I've ever heard anything derogatory about the 01/02 line.

I know you're asking about 01 but you could also try Thunder Frosted Long + which has the same style pouch. Personally I'm not a fan of 01.

Thanks fellas and I've been doing well lx. Methinks I'll give it a go and place an order for some as well as some Gellvare; which I am thrilled to see is back. I may also give the Frosted a go, although my memories of Thunder are clouded by the strange fake bacon aroma of the original Thunder.

I love 01/02. It's my second favorite portion behind Flader. It's got a very muted nutty tobaccoey thing goin on. I can't imagine anyone hating it as there's nothing in the way of strong flavoring. You may find it boring, but dislike?...nope.

From what I have read, most people prefer 02 over 01, since it has more flavor.

Lab series is weird. Its snus that's not supposed to juice. Not preferred.

I always fold portions I use in half, because I only use portions when I am looking to conceal my oral tobacco use. I find this makes them easier to hide, especially if they are reg. SM portions or F&L portions. Just a thought.

Who knows though, you might really like 01 and 02.

Good to see you jamesstew! Not a fan of 02, never tried 01, I mean 02 was okay but I won't buy it again unless I have a strong yearning for some mediocre snus. Try it though, and stick around.

Sometimes mediocre is just the ticket for me as I love subtlety which is why Gellvare, Laandstrom's, and Ettan Los appeal to me. I was also a big fan of Mocca+ minis which unfortunately are gone also. The pipe tobaccos I generally enjoy are some of the very subtle oriental varieties so subtlety is appreciated. That said I'll also be getting some delicious Gotland's yellow which IMO is very flavorful. I'll try to stick around this time.d

I like it. After Lucky and Retro became unavailable, I started to use 01 as a replacement. And....the no run stuff is bogus. It does run, but it's good.

You nailed it VRC, it tastes very much like Retro and has that same tobacco, juniper, Vlasic pickle thing that I remember. I hadn't been using snus for quite some time and was dismayed to find Retro gone but this fills the gap.

I really took Retro for granted. I really hated it at first because of that pickley taste, but it grew on me. I believe that taste would be the bergamont? I miss Lucky and Retro, but 01 isn't a drop off for me. Also love the portion shape and size.

If you like subtle flavors, you'll like 02. I can't speak about 01, as I haven't tried it yet, but I love 02. I'm not a huge fan of oriental pipe blends, but going with the bolder blends I favor, I'd say that 02 has a complexity similar to Escudo Navy Deluxe.
