    Old Gotland Grå

I pulled a tin of Gotland Grå lös out of the freezer yesterday that expired in 06-06-08. It has the old coarse grind, and I'm lovin' it. I used up the last of my old Gul last year :^(

I wish they still had the old grind. Two versions would rock. Grind the newer stuff even finer, and sell it as fint. In addition to that, go back to the old grind, and sell it as grov. I guess they don't sell enough lös snus for that though :^/

Yea I miss the old grind as well. If I had to choose I take the grov (old grind) hands down.

So that's about a year and a half past date? How is it taste/nic-wise? I understand that snus keeps well, I am just planning an order to last...awhile, and I was wondering.

The taste was great, I'm not sure about the nic. I don't really notice nicotine unless it's too strong. I've been using a bit of Lucky Strike lös lately, and it's been kicking my ass. The Gotland was fine. They have better tins than average, but I've had other snus about as old, and they held up pretty well too. They probably aren't 100% as good as fresh, but I'd say they're no worse than 80%-90% as good, with most being 90%+

That's good to hear. I know I am fooling myself if I think I won't still be ordering snus (one way or another) after PACT, but I would still like to build up a little stock.

It's not a bad idea. I've had a little snus here and there other ppl have traded me which has been close to two years old, and it was fine. I've had more than one can of old LD Black which was very much like new. I also got a can of Onyx which maybe didn't age quite as gracefully, but it was still pretty okay. I finished the can. It might have tended to get slimy a little more quickly than newer Onyx, but then again maybe not; Onyx seems to like to bring on the slime pretty fast.

              Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate.

Old snus is fine. I don't notice any change in the nic over time. I've had 50 y/o snuff too and that still kicks like a mule. Something does change in the snus however. I'm not sure what it is but I find w/ old snus the pris/portion has about 20% less staying power. They usually max out at 50 minutes for me but that's not so bad.

+1. I've had some pretty old stuff, and it still tastes fine.

My cans of snus will still be good after 2 years of being in the freezer?

Should be. I keep mine in freezer bags. You could go the extra step of vacuum sealing, but I never did.

                      Thank you, lxskllr.

I know what I read on here in the past but I had to confirm this. I learned how to vacuum my freezer bags with a straw by watching youtube.

                        A real classic since 1915.

Grov Loose has a robust tobacco character, slightly flowery, with hints of nuts, wood and leather.

The snus is easy to bake and sits nicely under the lip. Loose - for a fast and powerful flavor release. ...
