Personally, in my very uneducated opinion, I don't think so PP. These companies are obviously not just distributors but foreign distributors at that. Just about every aspect of this law was not drafted with weirdos like us who order esoteric tobacco products from Scandinavia in mind. There won't be anymore schwag available to those smokers who stockpile whatever those points are called and beat off to the Marlboro-branded BBQs and Sea-Doos in the catalog, but I'm pretty sure a General beenie or Ettan football would sail through under the watchful eye of big brother. This is more of that handy PACT speculation, so correct me if I might be wrong.

I think it might depend on how big a dick the FDA wants to be. They pretty much have carte blanche to do what they want. With tobacco they can probably violate the constitution without anyone interfering :^/

I think roo is right on this one PP. Hell, My buddy just got his yearly tickets to the F1 race in Milwaukee from Marlboro and he also got a water bottle from them as well. Grant it, the bottle is just red without the Marlboro logo but still got it from them. I don't think the distributers will have any probs with sending it but like lxskllr said, if the FDA wants to be a dick about it....... :?

But those are promotional items from the tobacco co. We buy from retailers that can give away anything or any brand they want to. its easy for the government to restrict the tobacco companys. Think about
it.....But the distributors should be able to continue giving discounts, points, etc. The government doesn't want tobaco co logos all over the place. That will stop. But we should still get our xtras along with our "legal age" orders. Think about it.

Its like saying that our retailer can't even give us a free bic lighter with a carton of cigs. Or have some sort of punch card incentive for frequent purchasers.

Frank where the hell are you? We need some answers.

I think I might have worded it wrong. :shock: You're right with the manufacturers being cut off from sending, or offering, branded bling. The retailers, like Frank and Jonathon, should still be able to send out their trinkets and award points for purchasing stuff from their shops. It'll be interesting though to see if the US tobacco companies get restricted. Skoal keeps sending me ads for a free travel spittoon! Can always use another target for the pellet gun! :twisted:

No shit. Walk into Spencer's gifts in a major mall and walk around. T-Shirts with F.... U. Marijane leaves, Beaver shots, ect... "Oh NoeZ the kids..." And kids practically run that store.
