    Icelandic Snus

I've seen this mentioned before, and I saw someone mentioned it in a comment on one of Snusify's latest videos.

Has anyone tried it, or know anything about it?

I know an Icelandic guy here in Canada who had some that I got to try.
From what I understand it's really Nose-snuff that's a bit more moist. But not much so it's impossible to bake it. He packed it relly hard in a syringe and shoved it under the lip. It was certainly nothing to do backflips over in my opinion. Waaa-aay to dry.

I knew a chain smoker from Iceland that wanted to quit and I asked him why he didn't just switch to snus and he told me Swedish snus is actually illegal in Iceland. Swedish snus in Iceland is treated like a drug.

      I found this for you...

      http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73478

......In Iceland the Swedish snus products are not legal. For some very weird reason. Many people use it and the police really don't do anything about you carrying snus around. There is an Icelandic brand though, it's drier and is actually meant to be used as a snuff. Something you'd snort.

You can't create balls out of that product due to it being so dry. So we use either, paper, tea bags or a 2ml syringe you can get at any pharmacy (no needles required).

What we do is we cut the front of the syringe off and take the black rubber top that is on the slider out. We then cut the tip that is on the slider off (a small plastic tip that the rubber is put on to keep it in position). So you have a flat end on the slider and the syringe open fully. From there on we just fill the syringe and press the tobacco. After that you can put it in your lip with ease.

This is also used for Swedish snus around here although I prefer to roll up my own "balls" of tobacco when I have swedish snus. It's so moist that when you put it in a syringe you're very likely to get loads of liquid in your mouth as well. I just want the tobacco, not the juice.

It's maybe a bit late to reply but im going to do it anyways, I am icelandic and i use the icelandic "snus" alot, I find it waaay stronger than anything i have ever tried of the "foreign" snus/tobacco but the smell and taste is horrible, gets you a good nicotine kick tho but id choose real portion snus over it any day.

Neftóbak, precious. I've had some, and I'd place it around an Extra Sterk in terms of strength. Tasted kind of like snussing coffee grinds to me, but I came to like it over the course of a sample.

Thanks! Well it isnt really snus, it's like some one above mentioned, Snuff but we use it as snus since the swedish snus and other tobaccos are illegal, the only way you could get some is through "black markets" behind counter stuff, It's really rough cut nasal snuff with HORRIBLE smell and taste i have used it for about 2 years and still i find the smell disgusting! But late last year we got a new brand "Lundi" which was a very big deal because we only had one brand, Lundi's smell resembles to General Original, and just now this january there is another new brand coming with flavors hurray!

I heard Lundi sold out of a three month's estimated supply for the country in a week over there.

That's true! But the "hardcore" users didnt like it at all, i like the change but i dont get a nicotine kick at all, sadly, but i hope that "skuggi" will be stronger they estimate that sales begin late january, they actually have started a beta phase of the sale in one store in our capital, i have heard that people like this one

And some people like mixing the "Neftóbak/ruddi" together with Lundi, and personally i find it blend just fine. :P

How do the laws work in Iceland? Could you legally make your own snus using tobacco flour? There's kits on the market to make your own snus, and it doesn't look terribly difficult. You could also buy leaves, or tobacco flour outside of a kit. Seems like that could be a good way to make some extra cash if the taxes aren't to bad getting it.

As I recall, oral tobacco is completely illegal in Iceland. There's neftóbak and a variety of pipe tobacco that people use like plug. If you've got some snuff on you that's above a certain moisture level, you can get in trouble for it. By all accounts, the cops don't really seem to care though.
