    My snus did not win

My girlfriend has been quitting smoking for over 3 weeks with the patch. She has snused before, but with the exception of 1 or 2 positive Discreet experiences, she just doesn't like it, won't do it. Fine. I try not to push it on her more than I already have, because after all, if she can pull out a miracle and quit with the patch and be nicotine and tobacco free, more power to her. Well, last night we put back a pint of Makers and some vodka and a few beers, and needless to say, she REALLY wanted a cig. As I do when drunk in this situation, I took persuasion to the next level and flat-out dared her to try an Odens ES. I've always wanted her to try it or another ES in the past when she's tried to quit, and always promised her the cravings would be crushed by 17mgs. This time she tried it. 10 minutes passed, nothing. So I dared her to put another one in, and I made the first move. I have never felt the need to double up on sterks, it just goes against some principle I guess. But there we were, lips stuffed full of 34mgs, and while I was getting my ass destroyed, slouching and sliding down in my chair saying "uh, oh wow...", she felt NOTHING. Then I busted out the snuff and we started tooting away. After 30 minutes of this, I was in a rather silly state of nicotine excess, taking one for the team... And she still wanted to smoke!! That's my story.

I couldn't have handled it. I'll dare her to next time though. Although 1 patch, 3 sterks, and a nose full of snuff is begging for disaster... I would like to just hear her say that she doesn't want to smoke.

Sounds like its a very good thing that she's not into more expensive short- acting stimulants. With a tolerance like that, she could easily become more expensive to maintain than a '73 Porsche 911.

What you should have done at that point, with all that nicotene in her, was have her have that smoke. It owuld have tasted HORRIBLE at that point since there would be no satisfaction from the nicotene. Bet she would have hated it. Kinda hard to believe that payched up, double ES'ed, and snuffed out, that either one of you did not OD on nicotene. Gotta be careful there, thats a whole lot of nic.

My wife still likes it, and she is excited about the new feminine brands coming out.

I have an outlandish nicotine tolerance myself... have never once experienced anything that made me feel I'd had too much.

Alcohol and some medications can temporarily raise the hell out of your nicotine tolerance. One of the medications I used to take made me insatiable for nicotine to the point of ridiculousness. I had to take this pill three hours before bed, and the whole time I would double barrel GES (new pair of portions every half hour), while snuffing every five minutes and chain-smoking non-stop. I changed to a different med after about of a week of that -- smoking two packs and devouring half a can of GES over the course of three hours every night was getting expensive and my lungs were not happy campers. (Interestingly, my blood pressure was just fine through all this... but mine runs too low most of the time anyway).

The only time I ever caught anything resembling a buzz from nicotine was the first time I inhaled a cigarette, 10+ years ago.

My husband, on the other hand, gets the niccups and turns green if he uses sterks too frequently.

One thing is clear from this threadโ€ฆ..there are some bad ass women associated with this forum (either directly or indirectly). Double barreling Starks, snooffing, and still wanting cigs  Impressive ladies!

Someone should create a beerfest type competition where instead of drinking, you just add another sterk....Last man/ or woman standing wins! 8)

                              Laz speaks truth.

After 10 years of marriage I have discovered that my entire purpose for being is
                              1. to get the car when it is raining
                              2. to make sure my clothes actually reach the hamper
                              3. to eat the nasty colored jelly beans and popsicles that no one else wants.

Out side of that I am to stand quietly out of the way and not cause a ruckus (a task at which I regularly fail)
