Where did Level go?

What? By constantly coming out with new things and then discontinuing others.. this way people are stocking up on those products and not buying anyone elses..?. Brilliant. I cant say thats the case, but sure sounds good to me.

I think I'd quit snus out of spite if General became the only snus available. I find it tolerable, but not an all day, every day snus.

I do wonder if SnusAB is sold to Gajane, if this will mean the end of Grand Prix/Tourney snus, and if Gajane got the Ligget-Vector USA connections that SnusAB had, and if their new Olde Viking will be a US import to the local gas stations? I kinda doubt it.

I think thats probably true. Olde Viking is probably marketed to Americans rather then real Vikings. Swedes would probably think its too cliche.

Start smoking pipes with me my friend. Best part about pipes is you truly can stash as much tobacco as you want. Some folks on SF literally have 30 years of tobacco put away. I am only three months in and already have about a years worth put away. My goal is to get a 10 year supply put away within the next 2 years.

Just really can't do that with snus. Or at least the snus doesn't get better with age the way pipe tobacco does.

But agreed, I doubt I could use General all day every day. Maybe just when I was out and couldn't smoke my pipe. But not all day.

The pipe doesn't seem to have the old magic for me the way it used to. I've been sick lately, so that's put a damper on my desire to smoke anyway. So far the pipe's more an occasional pleasure for when I'm feeling nostalgic than a full time occupation. That's fine, it's nice to have the option available. I do enjoy it on occasion :^)

I think if snus became difficult to get for whatever reason, I'd go with snuff full time. I could get(already have really) a huge stash, and it would be easy to care for. For more time sensitive brands, alternate import methods are more feasible due to the small size of the containers.

Yeah, I have a years supply of snuff on hand as well. But I could not depend on snuff, too much like cigarettes, how fast the nicotine flows through the system. As I posted somewhere else here recently, the nicotine delivery of a pipe seems really similar to snus. I suspect that is because the nicotine is absorbed the same way, through the mucas membranes of the mouth. For me, at least, getting that even dose of nicotine to stay in my body is my biggest goal.

Otherwise, I would say F*** it and just go back to cigarettes.

I have slowly been increasing my use of the pipe. For a while, I was doing one, maybe two bowls a day. Lately, I have gone up to 4 bowls. If snus became not something I liked, only General and American camel available for example, I could probably smoke 8 -9 bowls a day and be completely fine with that.

I'd rather not. I still prefer to use snus as my base. But nice to know I have alternatives beyond the stinky cigarettes.

Yes. I already have about 3 pounds put away for aging, another 2 pounds or so coming next week. That is enough to last me about a year at my current smoking rate.

I've got over 5 pounds of tobacco too, but I got mine for making snus. :wink:
