    General Maxi is being discontinued!

Northerner is reporting that General Maxi is being discontinued as of February 2010. I must admit that when I heard others upset about their favorite brands disappearing I always felt a smug satisfaction knowing that my favorite brand wouldn't. Granted I could just use two regular portions but there seemed to be something different about Maxi; It is sweeter and more juicy than just twice as much General. I just wanted to give anyone who likes it heads up (after ordering 5 rolls for myself).

    Oh, crap!

Thanks for the heads up, GB

I never had a desire to try General Maxi; the shape and size of the portion seemed uncomfortable. Granit Maxi looks interesting, since the shape is longer and more discreet.

I also never really had any desire for bigger portions but offer my condolences to those of you who mourn over this loss of snus!

It seems the popular way is minis, but I don't like minis. I have been curious to try these maxis. I might break down and order a 5-roll.

              Major Bummer for me.
General Maxi is a favorite. I start my day with a Maxi every morning.
I've got some General los on order, so I'll probably start with a big fat pris of los in the morning, either that or a double OP.
I don't drink coffee and a big dose of Vitamin N is what gets me going.
And, as others have noted, sterks seem to have a somewhat more bitter flavor to me, I like the flavor of regular portions better. Except for Thunder Frosted, of course, which I love. But not first thing in the morning.

They're quite comfortable, but I kept them off to the side in my mouth. They have an interesting feel, and a decent taste, but I never got them. 15 portions per tin is a loser AFAIC>

I hate to see any snus discontinued.

I have really only used two cans of General Maxi. I did like it.

The funny thing is I couldn't enjoy a portion that big outide of my house, so why bother. I'll just use loose at home like usual.

I'll have to give the Granit Maxi a whirl before it suffers the same fate too.

I have to add to this post... I have a General Maxi in right now and it tastes soooooo much better than a General original portion. It just tastes more like loose snus. I don't know how else to describe it.

I've got one in too. This topic made me open a can.

I didn't care for the General Maxi... the portions were less than comfy for me. That said, my condolences to all who loved and will miss the Maxi.

I think if the Maxi was sold with the US line in cigar shops, it would have outsold the other offerings.
