    General Onyx New Can Design.

    From my blog:

Other than PM 1847, Onyx is one snus that has a can that will drop your jaw. One thing that always stands out about this product is the can. Whether it's the regular can with a beautiful black background and patterns that go across the whole can, or the really cool Carbon Edition - Onyx is one snus that really takes it to the next level on can design. In the beginning of November until the end of February 2010, Onyx is going to get a new design. It is a limited design, in that it will ONLY run until February 2010. In March of 2010, Onyx will go back to the old (current) design. This will make a great addition to any snus lovers collection!

Hmm, but isn't this the same cost effective design change that 1847 just went through? From the pics here, it looks like it's just a silver paper label, and a silver sticker on the catch lid, and not the embossed silver overlay like the old can. It looks fine, it's flashy. But if I am right, it's financially cheaper. Which is understandable.

I don't think the lid changed at all. It looks like the only change is a shiny outside sticker.

Yeah, I can't really tell from the pics. But really, if they did just go with all sticker labels, it's fine with me. The can isn't a big deal to me, but a nice label design is nice. I don't feel a need to keep my empties, though I might keep some odd and hard to get, and discontinued ones.

Personally I prefer the regular Onyx can. This is a bit too "bling" for my liking.

All my Onyx ends up in my Carbon tin anyway - which is much more understated and WAY cooler. Will probably get a can though as I am down to one can of Onyx.

That is the Carbon can design with the black sticky changed to a glossy silver. Nothing to lose sleep about.

I always peel all the stickers off my Onyx tins. It's hard to see the design anyway, and it keeps dirt from getting stuck to to stray bits of adhesive. If I were SM, I'd go with a stickerless design(except for the bottom warning/ingredients). It would save money on production, and look fairly sophisticated if they went with the right plastic molding.

I like it, but I liked the old one as well. Onyx is a stylish looking snus.

I'm one of those people that thinks imitation/silver chrome looks cheap. I had a can of Onyx in the fridge where the chrome paint turned a dull grey and started to peel off.

The quality of the Gustavus can beats the Onyx can anyday.

The Gustavus can is pretty slick. I like the catch lid alot.

I don't care about any of this. Just the snus that's inside.

                              the can is irrelevant.
