I say go crazy and play with los with your tongue, make a mess and use a spit cup to spit out mudslides. This is the only way I discovered my love for Skruf. Once I figured out 'the one' according to my tastes, I worked on method. As I've learned from many wise snuson members..don't give up on los! Keep trying, perhaps you haven't found 'the one or two' yet.

To add: now I need help switching to portions! I've gone wild for mild and can't handle the extreme flavor and juice release I get from portions! EESH!! I feel for you, Sage....

Easy solution, just switch over to whites. I did after a year of using portions, best move I ever made with snus.

Obviously, I haven't given up on los. Most important thing for me, never be a hypocrite. So as much as I say keep trying things, as much as folks know I desperately love my portion snus, I keep making an effort with los at least once a year. I expect to keep coming abck to it if I have to every year for at least the next 20 years!!!

I'm rootin for ya on this Sage. I've done 2 tries over time. Will give it another shot for my 3rd. Los is nice. But mudslides suck, and look really ugly in an office setting.

I went all Los for awhile and lived by it.

However, I found I too enjoy a portion over los for the most part, only because of the feel and the ability to move it and abuse it as much as youd like.

But for me I still hold an effection to los because of the connoisseur quality.

Gotlands Gul has to be by far the best Los out there only because it doesnt attempt to recreate a SM product nor a General flavor profile, it is what it is. And that makes it unique and in a league of its own, as was Landstroms and Gellivare.

I hope you find a Los you do enjoy quite frequently but at the same time why bother if you arent interested.

For me its Portions for the most part and when i have the time and the place is right its Los just for the historical and tobacco aficiando in me.

If im walking outside on a nice cool day to go fishing or hunting and so on, its all Los but when at home drinking and such its portions.

Los just holds that " take it in moment " where portions are the " hi, Vitamin N here, enjoy "

I've just got up out of bed and seen this, so forgive me if I come across as a little .............. disabled.

I've been lossing loads recently. I've tried Montecristo and Got Yellow which both went eventually in the bin. I've tried GES - bin. Ettan is just OK but really really oddly I fell in love with Phantom Classic Brown - it just puts me in a place where I really like to be.

I've still got Offroad Cranberry, Offroad Mint and Granit to try yet.

Only one los I like so far so keep looking Sage as the rewards are high if you find 'the one'.

i chew on my phantom brown enough to flatten it some then flip it around and reform it...it just tastes soooo gooood this is the only snus that i have wanted to eat literally

So just did some more Prima Fint, hillbilly style. Again, was nice I suppose. Certainly didn't hate it. As usual though, happier I have a portion of Oynx in now. Gonna use the old Icetool later.

What I like least about los, I think, is it sticks to my upper teeth, like gum. I like the smell and taste of it.

FLIP AND STICK...but wet it up sum roll it around on your tongue(it wont stick to your teeth then)

I've noticed I'm handbaking my pris less and less. At first they were like hard little beans. Now they're a lot looser, and the flavor is coming out a lot more. I have an Ettan pris in now, and this is the first time I've successfully lossed on the right side of my mouth. Kinda cool.

You have basically posted what I have experienced trying to learn and enjoy the magic of los.

During my trials with los, I have fell in love with Odens Kanel XS. It’s a coarser cut and it makes for a sturdy pris. I typically use the Icetool for the Odens. And you know me, I am primarily a regular portion snusser.

One thing I can give you advice on is the following: Stick with it! Los has become more enjoyable the more I have used it. I think a good portion (No pun intended.) of the enjoyment I get in it is the tradition and the hand baking. I recently ordered a few cans of Goteborgs Rape, and I found that hand baking gives the best flavor and a much better feel. I press two fingers inside the can and get a pinch pressed up against the bottom corner, then pull that out and shape it slightly. Mine turn out to be roughly the shape of a football, nice and oval. From there I pull out my lip slightly and place it against my gums and push it up with my tongue. It’s great!

Due to this, I’ve ordered more los that I used back when I start snussing but wasn’t as experienced. I’ve picked up some Skruf Stark, Ettan, Roda Lacket, and some Grovsnus. I think I will end up enjoying the Grovsnus the most, but we’ll see. This morning I’ve already had a nice pris of Goteborgs. In my opinion the los is significantly better than the portions. The portions were too piney/woodsy, but the los is amazing. That, and you know me, I hate the white portions!

So stick with it, sagedil. Follow your own advice that you give to people starting snus and “Give it time!”

I am still the same way. While I do enjoy los occasionally (2-4 times a day), I still prefer regular portions. I don't know if that will ever change, and if not it's no biggie, because I get the best of both worlds and enjoy them both for their unique qualities. I am sure you will do the same.
