Has anyone ordered Knox portions lately?

And if so, do they taste different to you? I ordered three tins on my last Northerner order; I'm on my third tin now, and so far all three tins have tasted strange. They all have had a kind of nutty taste...much like Ettan. I don't know if it was due to slight spoiling from heat during shipment or if I just got a weird batch. The dates on them are all 18-01-2010, so they are definitely fresh...

Either way, I don't like it at all. :?

      Yes!

Knox was one of the few snus I would buy by the roll - cheap and good. I was bummed when they suspended production, but waited it out and recently bought a roll from buysnus when they had their $5.00 off promo.

First off, it's more expensive now. All prices being equal I would prefer Grov, General or LS as a regular portion - the cheapness of Knox was definitely a consideration in making it one of my go-to snus.

Secondly, yes I think it is different. I'm on my second can of the roll - but I remember Knox being more "juicy" than it is. Seems to me that the portion material is different as well - closer to V2 than what it was.

These are just my observations, take them for what they're worth. But I think that next time I buy a roll of portions it won't be Knox, which is a shame..

edit: Mine are dated 18-11-09 FWIW.

Mine too were dry and wholly unremarkable. Probably the last time I order Knox.

I wonder if they had to sub the production out (much like Odens and V2) and thus came the changes you guys are detecting?

My order of Knox lasted me two portions before the can got the rest of them. They're just gross, it isn't you or the spoilage.

I don't know.....it's strange because I ordered a few tins after they started production again, and I did not notice any difference. These tins are very, very different....I noticed it instantly.

I am hoping that it was just a bad batch; I'll try ordering one more round, possibly from someone else, and see how they taste. If it really is a change at the production level, then I'll have to quit using my (once) favorite snus, because these tins were just beyond disgusting.

Imperial Tobacco is the parent company of Skruf (pronounced 'Skroof' and Knox brands of Swedish snus. Skruf is probably the second most popular snus brand in Sweden and one of the top most popular snus brands in the growing American market.

Life long friends and entrepreneurs, Jonas and Adam, sat down in 2001 to discuss how they could use their skills gained in the world of finance to build a business in an area they were passionate about.
